Revolver vs. Semi Auto for CCW

This may come across as racists but here goes. A little over 50 years ago I was a young USAF officer, going home on leave from Georgia to Louisiana. I had crossed over into Alabama and on a long stretch of US 80 several miles from any town a carload of gentlemen of another color passed me and...

    .22 LR Ammo

Is that one labeled 22LR Rifle Geco. I have a couple of cases of that stuff. A little on the greasy side but it seems to shoot very well in evey gun I have. Supplies on it seem to have dried up.

What was your first Smith and Wesson??

My first was a M-14 (K 38) I bought just before graduating pharmacy school in the spring of 1968. Dad had a K 22 and I had shot it quit a bit from jr high through college. I did pick up a K 22 of my own a couple of years later, still have both. Last year while in a local shop to order a M...

Copper Coated .22 vs Bare Lead

At .22LR velocities it does not matter much. First correct me if I am wrong, but the copper washed bullets still have a lube applied. If you use a quality bullet that is well lubed there should be no problem. Years ago when in college, so I could afford to shoot my 30-06 I got a mold and...

    Your least favorite S&W revolver

My model 342. Scandium frame and barrel shroud, titanium cylinder. So lightweight it plain hurts to shoot.

Finish reaming K22s, or, How To Solve Difficult Extraction In .22lr S&Ws

Replying to an old thread. I went through the same problem. I got a M18 and 22/32 last year and extraction was literally a job for a hammer. Gunsmith "reamed" both but they still would not eject. Tried polishing the chambers with some Flitz, still no go. I ordered a Manson finish cylinder...

    M 18 and 22/32 hard ejection

had my kit gun and M18 reamed for difficult extraction. I took my son and grandson to the range over the 4th of July weekend and my started with the M 18 and it still would not extract and neither would the kit gun. Next week I took them back to the gunsmith and he looked and said they had...

    M 18 and 22/32 hard ejection

That was one thing I was thinking. When I get the new reamer we will know.

    M 18 and 22/32 hard ejection

I went out and found a couple of other brands Remington subsonic and some Winchester standard velocity, Subsonic extracted easy, Standard stuck in the M 18 and had a little drag in the kit gun.

    M 18 and 22/32 hard ejection

Do I need to remove the extractor star before reaming.

    M 18 and 22/32 hard ejection

    M&P 22 mag.

I had mine out last weekend, first time in close to a year. I had bought it then had a sudden acute arthritis attack in my left knee and had trouble getting around. Even with this weekend only has about 200 rounds through it but it performed flawlessly. My son, my grandson and I all shot it...
