Finally got the chance to try out my 6906 and I've got to say... it'll one-shot pop cans at 20 yards all day long. I'd say that's good enough for me.

It's the bottom one. There's a lot of holster wear on the front and the barrel shows some polish in the ejector port from the action being worked, but the slide and the internals show almost no wear. I'd be surprised if it had more than a few hundred rounds through it.

My 4006 and new 6906.

I bought myself a police turn-in 6906 (cost me a Walther P-22 and $160) and tried to look up it's manufacture date in my Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, but I can't find the serial number. It starts with VCH, could this be a special contract serial #, and if so, anybody have any idea about...
