That $175 is more like $1200 now. Think about that.

2.0 Compact and Vortex Venom Mounting

It seems I feel dumber every day. The "green" Weaver branded loctite is blue. I should stop making assumptions like that (because of the color of the bottle). It's assembled. I just need to boresight it and finish sighting it in.

2.0 Compact and Vortex Venom Mounting

Okay, so now I really feel like an idiot. I just went to Vortex's web site and looked at their "parts diagram" document for this optic. It actually says, "Tighten to 12 in lbs with loctite or 15 in lbs dry." Why that's in the parts diagram and not the instruction manual I will never know. It...

2.0 Compact and Vortex Venom Mounting

I feel kinda dumb for not having watched the video(s). The proper torque is really the problem, aside from what type thread locker is recommended. Vortec should be telling me the optic mounting torque and not Outer Impact. As I said in my previous post I'm going to use Weaver branded green...

2.0 Compact and Vortex Venom Mounting

Yes, that's correct. I'll have no backup irons which I can't see anyway without glasses. I don't wear glasses normally - I just need reading glasses. In a self-defense situation it's unlikely, imo, that I'll have my glasses on. It's just a risk I feel is a reasonable trade-off to make. YMMV...

2.0 Compact and Vortex Venom Mounting

As background: I haven't been able to use iron sights effectively since I had cataract surgery. No matter what I do I have to choose between seeing the front sight clearly or the target. I can't see both clearly. Hence, the red dot. So...I bought a Vortex Venom and an Outerimpact mount. The...

    I want a S&W P365

He asked you a question you didn't bother to answer, so there's that.....

To keep or not to keep...

You don't trust the firearm after it was accidentally mucked up and I get that. Parting it out and destroying the receiver is probably your best option in that case. There are two things I don't understand, however: 1) I'm not sure what the point of sending it in to S&W was if you were going to...

    Apex trigger issues

You believe your 2.0 trigger is great and that's a good thing. We'll just have to agree to disagree. A good M1911 trigger is great. Now don't get me wrong: I really, really like my M2.0 compact but the trigger is not great, imo. The trigger feels good until it hits the false wall of the striker...
