The blurred vision and headaches are concerning. If you were actually unconcious its pretty lame that they didn't do a head Cat Scan or perhaps and MRI. See your own primary care doctor, he may want to refer you to a neurologist for follow up.

Its not true that there is no fix for that. There may be no cheap fix. I sent my 25-5 back to S&W and had them fit a new cylinder, forget what it cost, this was about a year ago, seems like it was under $200 though. Also had them do their master action job as well.

Cost wise it does seem to be at the higher end but in terms of something to have, the Model 18 is one of the absolute best you can get.

The sub compacts are very nice. Mine is a 9c and I'm quite taken with it. You can of course replace the floor plate on the other mag with the pinky thing if you are more comfortable with it. As I understand it they are quite cheap.

Doesn't mean they don't have a purpose, just that they aren't as friendly to shoot as a lot of people might think. I think a lot of people who don't think it through are attracted to the small size and slim grip, not knowing that blowback guns flat out kick harder than recoil operated ones. If...

Depends on more than caliber, but in terms of caliber 9mm all the way. Most .380s are blowback operated and actually have a rather unpleasant snappy recoil. Most 9mms are of the Browning tilt barrel design and are simply more pleasant to shoot. That matters a lot when dealing with a new shooter.

FWIW, the SSR I bought was sold as used, but unfired, I got it for $599 which I felt was fair. The wood grips will probably appeal to a lot of people, I find them too slick and too thick at the bottom. I think they succeeded in their goal of being close to PC performance. I think the action...
