i think there were at least two runs. in the first run (what i got one from) there were 500 made to my understanding.
it is kind of strange they don't go for more. To my memory, we paid something like $1200 each in 1996. some of the first Bullseye matches i shot with it drew some nasty...
i agree its a great shooter!
my dad and i ordered 2 of these in 1996 (when they first came out) to use for Bullseye shooting. He shot with the Army back in the 60's and was convinced this was a better gun than any others out there. After ~20 years of trying to find a more accurate shooter at 50...
Driftwood, thanks, i already paid...i was asking about how much longer i might have to wait...my dad is not doing too well and i'd love to show him the letter for Christmas.

seems you are in the know about the queue on getting requests back - what is your estimation of the wait at this point in time?

2" side to side, 1.5" top to bottom
shooting 200 GR. Laser Cast SWC with 4GR Bullseye, right handed
mid 80's Gold Cup, recently rescued and put back into service :)
how do i get in on this? looks like fun. what are the rules? i have performance center .45 i got back in '95 brand new that i shoot bullseye with - will that work?
(i have 1911, too - but this is S&W Forum) :)
thanks!
shooting it is not a lot different than .45 with a target load...except the rear sights are really tiny compared to Bomar partridge sights i am used to...anyway i sent off the form and my $50 to get some history on it. Can't wait to hear back from Mr. Jinks.
yes, i used .44 Russian...these were Ultramax 200 grain RNFP.
i also picked up some Black Hills 210 FPL to try out too. Thanks for the advice and i will try it out at 50 yards next time i go to the Bullseye range i shoot at. I am sure everyone there will be interested in seeing that.
Caliber and test firing
thanks for the advice on contacting S&W to get full history - its a shame they have to charge for that but its not out of reach. I know what you mean about not being a daily shooter, too - i also have a Model 52-2 that i baby a bit (only shoot for practice and Bullseye...
Hello -
I have family piece which my great-grandfather owned when he was a deputy sheriff that has been passed down. Just curious how old it is exactly...the barrel (in two places), the cylinder and the butt of the gun all have matching serial numbers.
here are the pix - i can take better ones...
