S&W 66 Barrel Not Timed Correctly

As others have stated it appears the lines milled on the frame are off-center, not a canted barrel. Pretty sloppy work but just a cosmetic flaw I think. This isn't the first 66-8 4.25" like this I've seen. S&W probably had a run of frames like this and didn't want to chuck them out. Is the...

New S&W Model 66 for the Collection

You did very well! If your revolver was recently shipped and you don't mind, would you take a picture of the ball detent? A few of us have been curious if the current 4.25" barrel 66-8's have switched to the newer detent system. It looks like they have, but kind of hard to tell. Here is my...

    S & W Classic Model 19 - Link to photos and story

Thanks for posting the link. I see all the new 19's have the newer ball detent lockup. I'm curious, does anyone know if they ever changed the old style ball detent on the 4.25" 66-8's?

What new wheel guns did Santa bring you

A new 3" 686+ with G10 grips. I may try some Ahrends round butt finger groove tacticals though. G10 grips were a gift also...they're nice but I think I want shorter grips on a 3 incher. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Buying tips for a new 66

It looks like the barrel is canted but look at the rear sight too relative to those anti-glare lines.. they just milled the lines on the frame off-center. However, the front sight is also off-center slightly on its base on the barrel shroud.

    Picked Up The New 66

I'm curious, does anyone know if this new ball detent system is now being used on the 4.25" 66-8's or just the 2.75"?

    Got Some New Ahrend's Grips

I got these from Terri just yesterday. Moradillo, retro combat, round to square.

Instead of ammo I'm switching to Bourbon.

This is fantastic stuff. Richer and fuller than the already great #12. There is also a 14 y.o. George Dickel that is even harder to find.

    Mossberg's 500, 12 Gauge

FWIW, you can purchase the shorter LOP stock (12.75") separately that comes on the Thunder Ranch. You just have to call Mossberg and ask about it. That's exactly what I did for my 590A1. Here's a pic of my 590A1 with the Thunder Ranch stock and the factory 590A1 stock beneath for comparison.

    WTB - S&W 67-3

I've been itchin' for a Model 67, but I'm more shooter than collector and I'm guessing earlier versions fetch a higher dollar. And the external lock on new ones bugs me...and would always bug me, so I figure a nice 67-3 is what I'm after. I'd prefer FTF in Tennessee. I'm a HCP holder, fwiw. :D
