    MP-15 Confusion 5.56 or .223

Just as there are pressure differences between 5.56 and .223, there are differences between .308 and 7.62x51, with .308 having higher pressures.

A look at original Prices of Third-Gen Autos

I was cleaning out some stuff last night and found a May 1998 Shotgun News. Ky Imports had NIB 6906 for $430 and a 5906 (fixed sights) for $450. These are wholesale prices, shipping and transfer would have been extra. Despite being almost four years into the "high cap" magazine ban, the...

    HV ammo in 22A

When I had a 22A, I used nothing but high velocity ammo. No Stinger-type ammo, but mostly because it was a plinking gun. What does your owner's manual say about the type of ammo to use?

    Sport Optics Questions

The Aimpoint PRO is about $400 and includes the mount. The Bushnell TRS-25 seems to work OK and sells for about $100. If was tempted to spend more, I'd save up for the Aimpoint.

Is this a good ammo deal?

If you are able to monitor your e-mail and respond quickly, AIM Surplus has intermittent stocks of PMC 55 grain for $7.79/20 and 62 grain for $8.59/20. You receive an e-mail notice when it arrives, but have to act quickly. Earlier this month, I was able to buy a 1,000 rounds of the 55 gr. for...

    S&W 686 3" .38 Special Only - Just Picked Up

Not sure about 686's, but Conrail ordered some 681's in .38 Special. The used pistols were on the market 15 years ago, IIRC.

Dont Pay High Ammo Prices.... Ammo coming soon

There's BIG difference between a multi-year contract that gives DHS the right to order a certain about of ammo, and how much has actually been delivered. The government's contracts to buy ammo are not what's causing the shortage. Look at some of the other gun forums. You'll see photos where...

180 grain bullets for 40 cal

The theory in that article is the 180 grain bullets take up a lot of space in the case. Pardon me, but using the same powder, loads for lighter bullets, such as the 155 and 165 grain bullets, would call for more powder. Not sure there's any difference in the space in the case.

Were has all the 9mm Ammo gone???

I know guys who barely shot 50 rounds a year, who suddenly felt a need to buy a thousand rounds. I guess they are stocked up for the next 20 years.

Calling All CHP/California Highway Patrol Issued 4006 Experts

Did the CHP pistols have the traditional decocker/safety, or a decocker only, that would not stay down in the 'safe' position?

Why there is an ammo shortage

I've been to gun shows in Knoxville, TN in December and January. Never saw so many primers for sale, IIRC, $30-34 depending on brand. Lots of powder. Prices for AR magazines actually dropped $10 from the December show. If you want to know were the ammo is going, surf some of the other gun...

    Need model 18 info

I've seen more Model 18's at gun shows in the last three months than I have seen the previous 5 years. All in very good condition and all priced at $800. The dealers keep bringing them back, though.

M&P 9 Mechanical Offset and Zero

Exact point of impact will depend on bullet weight, to some extent velocity and the shooter. You're going to have to shoot the pistol and find out for yourself.

"Ruger Only" load compatable SW revolvers?

And I thought a cratered primer was a sign to back down on the powder.

686 AYOOB street L- Collectible or Shooter?

I'm in the shoot it and enjoy camp. My brother was once lamenting about whether to shoot a particularly nicely blued S&W. I told him that if he didn't, when he his daughter was grown and married, his son-in-law would either shoot or sale it. I once bought a Winchester rifle. Just looking it...
