Yes the S&W marking is right back from the trigger. It is hard to see in the pic tho.

Very true, but nothing looks to have been filed off or anything either. That's what is weird.

Just wondering what makes you know that its been rebarrelled?? And yes the serial number is what got me wondering and posting in the first place haha.

I'll try to get some pics up soon. And no there is no V on the butt of the gun. The numbers on the butt do look wierd in relation to size compared to other similiar guns that I looked at. I don't know if that means anything or not.

That is the problem. There is no number on the bottom of the barrel and it doesn't look like its been filed off either.
