Need help with .38 special ctg

I was wondering about the age of my gun I received from my uncle. It says .38 special ctg on the 4" barrel. It is a 6 shot with square butt grips. The problem is that I don't see serial numbers similar to other ctg's that I looked at. Inside the frame it says 80060 but I assumed this to be an assembly number??
On the butt of the gun it simply says 2028. These are the only numbers on the entire gun. Can anyone help identify the age and other info about the gun? Thanks

I almost forgot, the patent dates are Feb. 6. 06, Sept 14.09, and Dec 29.14.

No numbers on the back of the cylinder, or under the ejector rod on the barrel?

When you eject the cylinder is has 80060 on the inside frame and on the base of the ejector rod once it is opened.

Those are the only numbers on the gun besides what is on the butt.

The serial number is too early for the patent dates on the barrel. What is the serial number on the flat on the bottom of the barrel?

That is the problem. There is no number on the bottom of the barrel and it doesn't look like its been filed off either.

Does it speak with a Spanish accent?

I think, also, that this is not a S&W. Maybe its a Spanish copy, although
I don't know what those guys did about the roll markings on the top of
the barrel.

The best thing to do would be to post a couple of pictures.

Those patent dates are what is on a Victory Model. Is there a 'V' on the butt in addition to the serial number?

I'll try to get some pics up soon. And no there is no V on the butt of the gun. The numbers on the butt do look wierd in relation to size compared to other similiar guns that I looked at. I don't know if that means anything or not.

RE: the serial numbers. Push the ejector out and look through the chambers with a bright light. There should be a number on the underside of the ejector star if it is a Smith that someone has removed the rest of the numbers from.
