    Identify this gun please?2.0

This revolver is a 29-2 I think. Serial #N723502. (edited for 2's that looked like P's) 8 1/2 " from business end to cylinder face. (by the way, how DO you define 'barrel length'?) Any ideas on date of ship or mfr? Thanks in advance for any help. You guys are great. Really glad I found this site.

    Identify this gun please?

I have what I believe to be a K38 Combat Masterpiece serial # is K588241 and when I swing the cylinder out it says Model 14-2. Can anyone tell me the date shipped or manufactured?

    New from New Mexico

I'm retired and living in the NW corner of New Mexico. I own 3 S&W's: a K38 Combat Masterpiece; a Model 29 that I am trying to rebuild from junk; and a little Model 469 9MM I bought for my wife. I also have an M1A, a Kimber Custom TLE, a Ruger MKII and a Ruger Single Six in .22/.22mag. I have...

Rough old M29 in the hands of a newbie

It was suggested that I move this query over to Gunsmithing. I now know that my revolver is not DAO (I should have known). Here is the story: First post ever. No snickering please. I have disassembled my .44 and cleaned and oiled it and it won't hold cock in single action. It occurred to me that...

    MODEL 29 Newbie

First post ever. No snickering please. I have disassembled my .44 and cleaned and oiled it and it won't hold cock in single action. It occurred to me that it might be DA only. Is this so? I could save a lot of research time and money if someone could line me out on this. Thanks. Added info: This...
