I got a 34-1, 4 inch barrel about 6 months ago. Liked it so much that about 2 months ago I started looking for a 2 and a 6 incher. It looks like the prices have more than doubled or I got a terrific deal on my first one.
Another vote for the Sig P238 but please buy a good holster for pocket carry. Started with a Keltec 380 but never could get used to the trigger. Tried a friends Sig and had to have one. Perfect for an 83 year old with a bad back!
Open Carry in South Carolina
But you have to have a CCP to open carry. It became legal August 15, 2021 and as of today, I have seen anyone open carrying. The same law also cancelled the permit fee but you still have to show proof of 8 hours training and your finger print card. I have had a...
Adjusting Screw, not!
Not an expert, but it is my understanding that this screw should always be all the way in. The real experts will charge to the rescue shortly.
For some reason, can't get Search to work. So why can't you find 22 caliber wad cutter ammo like 38 Special wad cutter for target shooting? Love those perfect .357 holes and would like the same in 22 caliber.
Worst Gun Ever
I nominate my H&R 22 caliber Premier 2nd Model. Bought it on an internet auction so I had no idea how small it was. The trigger guard is so small your finger always get caught when you fire it. The trigger pull is so hard that a good shot is impossible in SA or DA. I keep it as...
Second the vote for Pachmayrs. Bought a model 36 with a 2 inch barrel and Pachmayers. Wanted wood for the looks and originality. After shooting with the wood ones, couldn't get the Pachmayrs back on fast enough. Made shooting more comfortable again!
Looks OK To Me!
It looks good to me but maybe a little dry. A bit of good gun oil will slicken the action and prevent rust. Lubricate all the parts that rub against each other. The real experts will be here soon. There is a lot of good information on this forum!
I think location can affect the price. Here in central South Carolina a snubby in 85+ condition usually goes for $450 or so. Of course, condition is everything. One at 95+ condition could be as high as $800-1500. Maybe us rebels like them more than other areas of the country!
Kinda off subject but in my small hometown several of the stores would sell single cigarettes out of a glass or cup sitting on the counter. We certainly have changed a lot since then!
What I do
I'm not anal but I thoroughly clean and oil every firearm I buy, new or mostly used. Presently own a Colt 38 Army Special that left the factory in late 1913 or early 14. Next an S & W Model of 1905 shipped in 1925. Last is an S & W Model 36 shipped in1984-85. All were free of gum or...
