Car Shopping for the Wife - RAV4?

We had a 2016 CR-V which we had to replace last December when my insurance company totaled it out after it was hit while parked. Bad time to buy with the shortages. I had my wife look at and drive just about anything we could find. We had a one week window to buy while the rental car was still...

New to me 36-6 first range trip

It does have the Hogue Monogrip. I can only assume it's the factory original. Finish seems pretty good to me, but I'm no expert and have more of a function over form type personality with most things. Only few pictures I have so far are the ones I took when I paid for it.

New to me 36-6 first range trip

I like it! Can't wait for my wife to try it, I think she'll like it also. Near perfect day at the range this morning. Temp in the upper 40s but no wind or cloud cover made it feel warmer. Wife had to work, so I went with a friend. It is a sweet shooter. Smooth and consistent trigger in DA...

    Why I Dumped My .38 $pecial.

I'm pretty well stocked on calibers for what I've owned before the most recent scarcity and high prices set in. But, I've just bought my first guns chambered in .38 Special & .380 ACP. So, I'm paying premium now. I do have reloading equipment, so I may get what I need for those calibers as well.

WTB: accessories for Model 36-6 Revolver

I just picked up a 36-6, sadly it did not come with anything. I'm interested in box, manual or anything else it might have left the factory with. I've found generic revolver manuals online and multiple copies of the manual for the 36 Chief Special, but I'd like a copy specific to the 36-6 3"...

    Model 86-16?

I found an old auction listing online that said the Hogue grips were factory for that model.

    Model 86-16?

Just to fill in a little more on this gun's future. I plan to use it to get my wife more comfortable shooting something bigger than a .22, since she does not like any of my 9mm. I'm sure it will also see duty with new shooters and others not fond of a 9mm. My nieces, sister-in-laws and friends'...

    Model 86-16?

They're Hogue Monogrip. One piece with an opening for a screw on the butt.

    Model 86-16?

Thanks to all for the rapid responses. Thanks also for not flaming me on my poor identification. Back home for the second time tonight, I bought it. Slightly bummed it didn't come with box or anything else. But this will be a shooter, not a collector's item relegated to a safe. With any luck...

    Model 86-16?

Standard Catalog says only approximately 615 of this model were made. It matches the description. 3" full lug barrel with adjustable sight.

    Model 86-16?

Ok, I called them up, argument could be made I should have done that first. The 86-16 is their internal lot number. It is in fact a 36-6. Now that I've got your attention and while I do my searching... What is the consensus on that model?

    Model 86-16?

I tried a search here, the website kept giving me errors. Just got back from my LGS. He's got a used S&W Revolver tagged as a Model 86-16 for sale. But I cannot find anything online or in the Standard Catalog about a Model 86. Unless I'm having one of those moments. Now, it's possible he...

Smith and Wesson revolver safety lock.

Some history about the lock. S&W has released some revolvers without it, but it seems most still do. The History and Future of the Smith & Wesson Internal Lock – RevolverGuy.Com

Smith and Wesson revolver safety lock.

This. It's been awhile since I read up on it, but didn't S&W add it to keep Clinton away? Now that they and the threat of them are long gone, why do they still force it on buyers. I don't think any other manufacturer does so, do they?
