I just paid $500 at Delray Shooting Center, FL.
I was happy to pay it though. Didn't have to be on a waiting list or anything like that. I made a phone call, it was there, I said hold it and showed up 15 mins later cash in hand ;)
I just took my shield 9 to the range for only it's 2nd time out and I was hoping not to have any FTE's this time. I had 3 the first time out and after a good cleaning and a few more rounds I was hoping to be done with them.

Just wanted to let everyone know that S&W sent my rifle back, fixed at no charge :D:D:D
They replaced the Bolt Assembly. Apparently nothing else was wrong with the rifle. Seeing as I'm not the original owner, it was really awesome and un-expected customer service!

Thanks for the heads up everyone. I guess I'll get S&W on the phone tomorrow. I'm way too new to be repairing things myself. I'm still shocked that someone who is a fellow gun "enthusiast" would screw over another so royally.
So, it's not even just the barrel assembly? :mad: Oh man. I got really hosed. :mad::mad::mad:
If I send this in to S&W, I'm going to end up paying for repairs then?
I posted yesterday that I bought a used 15/22 and that the charging handle felt a little "rough" when I pulled it back. It also didn't seem to go all the way forward when I released it. The general consensus was to give it a good cleaning. So I am in the process of doing it now and I've found...
Aside from needing a good cleaning, is there anything that could actually be wrong with the rifle? Today is the last day of the gun show and then the seller is gone.
