Took my 317-2 from the "thinking of selling list" to "keeper".
It was a redundant item, already having a 43C, but I liked the exposed hammer of the 317 so I picked it up. Both are excellent shooters and settling on one to keep was proving difficult.
Then the wood grips I had in my spare...
Issue decided.....I just stumbled into a NIB Model 63 on GB for less than $600...so poof, got the 63 to match up with my 60-15.....so the 317-3 is on the disposal list.
However, I put some wood grips on the 317-2 and dang I now think it needs to stay around.
I moved from a Magtech 125gr +P loading to a 158gr SWC. Recoil impulse roughly cut in half which I can manage. As my health condition improves ill introduce better defensive rounds.
As for the 9mm, I have a conversion already on a 60-14 that recoils like a ..32 S&W. Yes its a steel frame...
I have a 351PD and a 351C. Really like them. Resonably powerful cartridge with minimal (negligble) recoil. They are barky though. Brass does not eject cleanly from my 351C where the 351PD has no issues and the brass drops free. Like any rimfire, ignition reliability can be an issue, but a...
I recently completed a local trade where I traded my Ruger LCR .357 Magnum for a S&W 337-2 AirLite PD.
I solved my recoil sensitivity issue with my 342PD by switching ammunition. (Neuropathy issues in elbows and hands and Ulnar trasposition surgery made .38+P unbearable).
Now I am looking at...
Will .38 Wadcutters present a problem with the Titanium Cylinder?. Have to do some more research on this subject as I thought Jacketed bullets were required in the Titanium Cylinders.
Looks like I stumbled on my answer. Making a trade this weekend on the 317-3 for a 9mm Shield & a stainless Taurus M85...so the 317 snubbie has got to go.
Good advice. They both have been 100% for me. I'm leaning on selling off the 317-2 since I have the 43C and that is a good trainer for me as I have a 342PD and 351C in carry rotation.
I really want that 63-5 to match up with my 60-15 .357 Magnum.
Have a 317-2 and a 317-3. Can keep one of them because I just picked up a 351C and I really want a 63-5.
Would you ditch them both and pick up the 63-5 or is either of them worthy of keeping in the collection.
Note, I already have a 43C.
decisions decisions......
I built one for deer and hog hunting. ASC Mags are hit or miss. CProd mags are the best and mine have been reliable. Magazines and feed ramps are the key.
Built the upper and slapped it onto a stock S&W M&P15 lower with a heavy hammer spring installed.
