Interesting. I think you're the first person to say a 9mm is soft shooting in a J frame. I'm not necessarily questioning you, it's just I hear so many reports to the contrary. Maybe someday I can shoot one to see for myself.

It was truly very manageable. Steel frame 60-14. I'm sure the Alloy 442 will be a little more stout. Even the defensive 9mm ammo I tried (147gr and 124gr JHP) was very mild recoil.

351C regripped. While the wood grips looked nice, the standard S&W rubber J Frame grips are far more comfortable.

43C is not a bad choice. 8 shots of Velocitors aint too shabby.

After 50 years of searching I find the S&W model 637 Airweight in 38 special does just fine. Hammer and all .
Contrary to popular belief the exposted hammer is NOT a problem ... I Like It !

I have persistent problems with trigger finger and possible cysts in the tendons of my shooting hand. Surgery remedied one finger, then I developed issues with two more and the thumb. In any event, I had to give up my Airweight J frames. Wish I still had my 640! I currently carry a Shield 9mm and it isn't so bad to shoot.

I like how the new frames kind of cover up the hammer more than the older style. Less of it is sticking it out. I would think it makes it a bit less snaggier.

And switch to .38 wadcutters for your carry ammo.

Will .38 Wadcutters present a problem with the Titanium Cylinder?. Have to do some more research on this subject as I thought Jacketed bullets were required in the Titanium Cylinders.
