Need help with Smith and Wesson Serial number

Looks like few post's to your inquire so I'll give it a shot. Yours is a model .32 regulation police manufactured sometime between 1946 (serial number starts at 536000 and ends at 712953 in 1957) If your firearm has the trigger guard set screw, then it was made prior to 1953. You could request a...

Heaviest loads for a 329PD, Night guard .44 mag, or 329PD back packer?

329PD repair Just a short note about 44 magnum loads in the 329PD. I have been reloading for rifles and handguns for over 30 years. I shoot many handguns and love my 329PD but never thought about hot loads in it. I have a older S&W 29-2 4" that digested everything I reloaded with no issues at...

New (to me) 1950 Military .45

Hey, I agree with everyone else. Restore it and you just made the collector value go down the tubes! If it was rusted and beatup and no matching numbers and you just wanted a shooter, then go for it. Please don't wreck a collector gun!

    1905 hand ejector, 4th change

Ah, thank you very much. It kinda bothered me for a while as the 3rd edition book by Supica & Nahas on S&W history by stated logo's on the left frame of this model. I will send for the history letter from S&W. Maybe they can explain the reason for no logo.

    1905 hand ejector, 4th change

Question about S&W logo. I have a S&W 32-20 hand ejector model 1905 4th change without any S&W logo or hallmarks except for the "SMITH & WESSON" stampings on the 4" barrel. Serial number range in 87,000 and all match on frame, barrel and cylinder. It does not appear to be refinshed. Anyone ever...
