I watched your video. I did not see a problem with the function of the gun. When you racked the slide properly, by fully retracting and letting go, without walking the slide forward, it went fully into battery. What are you trying to simulate by retracting the slide a 1/4"?
I prefer the flush-fit 7-rounder. I'd like to trade the 8-round extended magazine for another 7-rounder. My 8-rounder is unused by me. I suspect it was only used when fired at the factory. If interested, PM me.

Harrison_creek has PMed me and would like to trade.
Sigh
I can't believe I tried this. In my experience, after reading the replies here, the scotchbrite pads do impart a bit of shine to the slide, especially at the edges. This was disappointing to me. I must resist the urge to Flitz the whole thing now. (5903)
Mission accomplished. Thanks for the help fellas. It will take getting used to it. It's more slippery but I can reach the mag release much better. I still may need to use my left thumb for the slide release. Some thread drift: once the grips are off, is there any need to spray oil on any...
Bear with me here. I still haven't attempted anything but to remove the two screws from the Hogues. I don't want to ruin or mar anything. With the grip screws out, I can start to separate the grips from the frame from the top of the grips? This sounds easier said than done. After I took out...
I have a 5906 with Hogue rubber grips. I bought the straight back stock grips. How do I remove the Hogue grips? I found the S&W One Piece Wrap-Around Pistol Grip Disassembly/Assembly Instructions here on the forum so I should be ok once I get the Hogues off. Those directions mention a grip...
I was told that part #10383 is a Performance Center part (the extended mag release) and is not for sale. Am I out of luck or does anybody else make such an after market part?
I have been shooting a Sig P226ST for five years and just switched to the 5906. I bought it used and it came with the Hogue rubber grips. I shot an IDPA match and had a little difficulty on mag changes both reaching the mag release and the slide release. I never did this before with my Sig...
I am still looking for one. In another thread I was informed that a black trigger and black skeletonized hammer indicated a newer model with MIM parts. I have read some about MIM parts including a long thread by Bruce Gray on the Sigforum. I am not overly concerned about MIM parts, but partly...

I am partially optimistic that my patience will be rewarded with an as close to new as possible 5906. I have looked at many 5906 pictures. I see versions with black triggers and hammers and others with silver/stainless. Does that indicate an approximate time of production?
I have been shooting a Sig P226 for the last 5 years. I am into aesthetics and I have always liked S&W pistols for their looks. I have recently become fixated on the 5906 and keep kicking myself for missing out on the CDNN sale last fall. Now I was reading about the 910 in a recent thread and...
