To you Really Good Shooters -

With me, the "first shot" counts the most. So, if I don't over think it and treat all first shots like a .22, or light .38 special, on the first shot, it shouldn't matter. Many people psyche themselves out before they get the first shot off. Rule of thumb, shooting is about 90% mental and...

What exactly is so great about the Model 58?

I did the math on my handgun reloads from '79 when I started, through the 90s. In 1979, I was buying CCI primers for $6.90 a 1,000, various powders for around $5-6 a pound, all the free brass in various calibers that I could carry home and getting free lead, as well. My cost of .38s and 9mm per...

    God Bless Stainless Steel!

I had blued ones for many years(60s and early 70s). I'm lazy at times and when stainless arrived in 1965(model 60) and the model 66 in 1971, I bought them. I've neglected cleaning them for months after shooting, nary a problem.

Ruger Security Six - 6" blued **NEW PICS**

I fully agree. I feel the same way about certain motor vehicles, but that's for a different thread.

Ruger Security Six - 6" blued **NEW PICS**

Yep, $323 these days for that, is a darn good buy. I like them for their ruggedness...and simplicity. My wife has a blued .38 Speed Six in 3" and a S/S Security Six .357 in 4". I snagged a blued .357 Security Six in 4" about 5 years ago for $275.

Ruger Security Six - 6" blued **NEW PICS**

A pretty good find these days. This specimen is in very nice condition. Your post reminds me of days gone by and some great deals to be had. In 1971, I was part way through my rookie year as a LEO in the SF Bay Area. A Ruger flier showed up at the department advertising their new Ruger...

U.S. CARBINE CAL. 30 M1 - Underwood Elliott Fisher Company

M1 Carbine After reading this, I need to get mine out and look it over. It is an Inland and in very nice condition. I had a Singer and foolishly sold it. They were purchased as home defense weapons and I never considered the collector value of them at the time. Plus, the price was right and...

M27-2 Factory Refinish & Action Job

Very nice indeed. I sure wish S&W had offered the 5" in all their models with medium and large frame. I just like the balance so much better.
