    Bought my first fake...64 NY-1

I'm quite new to S&W revolvers. Could you explain how/why it's fake?

    686-1 info needed

I've been watching -4 and older 686's on gunbroker for a couple weeks. Most are selling below $700. The only ones selling for more are the Lew Hortons and the occasional ones that pop up in excellent condition with box/papers. I just got a -4 for 580, the 10 or so I bid on prior were closer...

    Looking for Sword Information

Paul Chen practical katana. They're $220 right now on their website and well made (Paul Chen Hanwei). The blades are the same as the higher dollar ones, they just don't go for authenticity on the rest. Beyond that, you're looking at $800+

Yeah, that's what I mean. Can you look up the Spec. Ord. number in the SCSW? Where would it be on the gun?

Best guess on CBZ is Sept. 1997 Best guess on CAC is at some point in 1995 I'm still trying to figure it out too, so I may be off. But based on my logic, that's my guess.

    S&W 629 Powerport

I'm still learning and figuring out the "bible" 3rd edition, so I may be overlooking something, but: 103624 shows 1996-2001 manufacture CFB shows Feb 2002 CAF shows Oct 2003 -5 started in 1997 None of that makes sense to me, everything seems off, but like I said, I'm new and could be missing...

    Thanks again Gunhacker!

    Older 686 parts availability

Didn't offend me, if that's what you think. Numrich eased my mind on the parts problem. The actual gun is from gunbroker, I was being a bit paranoid and lowering competition

    Older 686 parts availability

Found a 686-4 for sale that has a chip in the barrel where the cylinder meets up. Seeing what it would cost to replace. Unsure if it would be an issue or just me being bugged by it, so better safe than sorry. ETA: Not a gunsmith, never heard of a Numrich. Also new to revolvers, so there is...
