    It. Is. Alive.

Is anyone selling the 5" black 9mm 2.0's online and have them in stock?

    Anyone done a 2000 round challenge w/ a new S&W revolver?

I already stated several times that I am practicing holster draws and reloads on a shot timer. Also bill drills, transitions, strong hand, weal hand. The same stuff I would be doing otherwise. You sound like a FUDD. Do you even know what a shot timer is?

    Anyone done a 2000 round challenge w/ a new S&W revolver?

Well my 629 only made it about 400 rounds in before there was a "problem". The cylinder release was falling off. Of course I researched the issue on this forum and tried fingernail polish, which would hold the cylinder release screw under .44 special recoil, but .44 magnums loosened it again...

    Anyone done a 2000 round challenge w/ a new S&W revolver?

If you are honestly offended by the thought of spending more on ammo than the cost of the gun, you must not shoot much. I've probably blasted at least $2k worth of 9mm through each of my half a dozen $500 M&P's over the past decade. I was shooting 500 rounds a week for quite awhile.

    Anyone done a 2000 round challenge w/ a new S&W revolver?

No thanks :) I carry 305gr Hard Cast Underwood Magnums and they are bad enough out of the 629. Would not being using too many of those for this test though.

    Anyone done a 2000 round challenge w/ a new S&W revolver?

I'd tell you to ask Todd Green were he not deceased: https://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?9-2-000-Round-Challenge I'd say the point is to test to the reliability and durability of the revolver, see if it can hang with the semi-autos, and a fun reason to fire 2000 rounds through it...

    New Extractor - Same Problem M&P9 2.0

I had a 4.25" 9mm 2.0 that did the same type of thing.....was failing to extract randomly once every 75-150 rounds with all kinds of ammo even after all kinds of cleaning, including extractor removal and deep cleaning of the claw. It was very frustrating, since I was using the gun for IDPA and...

    Anyone done a 2000 round challenge w/ a new S&W revolver?

Hi, I think I'm going to do a 2000 round challenge with my new 629. My plan is to shoot 1000 44 mags and 1000 44 specials over a few months. I've only done 150 of each so far (300 total). The rules of the challenge are that you can't clean or maintain the pistol for 2000 shots and you must...

    Home defense and snub nose

Personally I would use an AR-15 SBR with a suppressor for this if all options were there. If I had to use a firearm for home defense, I assume I'll be in a gunfight, and in a gunfight I want a gun that gives me the best chance of winning. Tests have shown that 5.56x45mm ammo penetrates...

    629 vs 29 - moving to alaska

Yeah, not to mention the fishing guide that took down a big grizz with a S&W 3953 9mm using buffalo bore 9mm +p hard cast 147's. Despite the "file the front sight" jokes, any firearm is better than a sharp stick imho, I just felt the 629 would be better than a 500 for general purposes...

    629 vs 29 - moving to alaska

I function tested my 629 today at the range for the first time; it performed flawlessly of course. I fired 156 rounds total: 75 .44 magnum rounds (50x Sellier & Bellot 240 gr, 25x Underwood 305 gr) and 81 .44 special rounds (50x Blazer 200gr Gold Dots, 25x Hornady 180gr XTP, 6x Sig Sauer...

    629 vs 29 - moving to alaska

If S&W made an M&P in 10mm I probably would've gotten that instead. I am a much better marskman with a semi auto, and the volume of fire you can put out with an auto is undeniably better. However, there is a certain romance to revolvers for me....they're just fun. If movng to Alaska isn't an...

    629 vs 29 - moving to alaska

It's an SKU 163636, my understanding is that it's a 629-6. The barrel is a 5" full lug. The store I was shopping at didn't have the 4", plus I realized that I already had holster for my 5" N Frame Model 327, so it kind of made sense to stick with that barrel length.

    M&P 2.0 in 10mm?

As a current Alaska resident, I would be all over a 10mm M&P as well. I doubt it will happen though, will have to make due with a Glock 20 or a S&W 629. Would just prefer to buy a semi-auto from an Amercan Company, even though I know Glock is pretty american-ized now. Even though the 10mm...
