    Pulled the trigger - 686 Plus 3"

It's a great revolver that shoots well with a great trigger. I think you will like it. Be careful though. I purchased a 3" Talo a few years ago as my first revolver. I now also have a 4" model 13, a 4" model 65, and a 3" model 65. They all shoot great but seem to multiply.

Which is your FAVORITE S&W revolver?

Still trying to figure it out between my 686+ Talo 3", a like new Model 65-3 4", and a smooth Model 13-3 4". Have to go reload some brass now.

My first Second Gen - Longwinded version

I have a Model 639 that I shoot very well and have had no problems with at all. Its is one of my favorite range guns. I never read or hear much about the 639's though.

I made a huge mistake... what were yours?

I consider my purchasing mistakes to be an inexpensive continuing education. I've learned a lot over the years. If I pay a little extra for a quality Smith & Wesson the extra is probably less than I would spend for a round of golf with beers and a sandwich and I can keep the Smith & Wesson...

    HR 38 passes one hurdle

Fix Nics is sponsored by Chuck U Shumer and Diane Feinstein and it is now attached to HR 38. This can't possibly be good for gun owners.

    Favorite range revolver????

Still trying to decide between my 686+ Talo or my Model 13-3 4". I may try to get a Model 65 or 681 for Christmas just to add to the confusion

    That look of disgust . . .

I shoot on private property and haven't experienced that. I don't think I would even think twice about a comment about revolvers. I buy what I like and not what others like. I have a 9mm Shield, a model 639, a model 686+ 3" barrel, and a model 13-3 4". The problem I have is deciding which...

LGS has a 639 in very nice condition.

I like the 2nd gen Model 639 with the rounded trigger guard and fixed sights better than the large rear sights. I picked one up a couple of years ago and is one of my favorites. I like the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen all steel models for going to the range.

What's your most recent firearm purchase, and why did you buy it?

Model 13 4" in great condition. Why? Because my purchase before this was a Model 686+ Talo and I am hooked on revolvers at the moment

    Model 13-3 impulse purchase

Thank you for the good advice. I've read about that. I only shoot 158 gr and I'll save the magnums for my 686 plus 3". I purchased some dies and I am going to reload some less than magnum 158 gr for the model 13 for shooting paper. I'm shooting with a friend that has been reloading for years...

    Model 13-3 impulse purchase

I cant wait to get out to the range with it the trigger felt great in the shop. I just got into revolvers this year. The triggers on these Smith & Wesson revolvers in my limited experience are great.

    Model 13-3 impulse purchase

Came across a Model 13-3 with 4" heavy barrel in a LGS today. It is blued and in great condition and doesn't appear to have been shot much and the price was right. It fit my hand and I couldn't seem to put it down so I bought it to go with my 686 plus. I'm waiting to get it on my permit...

WTB offside safety lever for Model 639

I picked up a model 639 with an ambidextrous safety. It is good for right handed shooting which I am but I would like to get the offside safety lever and screw to make it as original as possible. Does anyone know where to find one?
