I picked up a 10-8 4" barrel with serial # C 840XXX the barrel is pinned but the cly is not recessed the book says a it should be a 1977 how ever the serial # says its is a 1966-67 ? On the back strap is engraved NY222. Any info would help . Thanks Mike

I have some more info it is marked model 34 no dash it is p & r. Cly. is 1" 5/16 long the nickel is not flaking but is a bit cloudy in spots grips are smooth with S&W in silver they do number to the gun,grips also have a little grain seperation.And has not been renickled.The gunsmith at the shop...
