Compared to the 4” KC, the 2” and 3” are just about perfectly balanced in my hand. Love my 617s, but that’s a heavy hunk of metal …especially, when shooting the better part of a brick. Just so you’re not on the fence too long : )
Have fun!
Thanks. It's now a Colt standard catalog item, along with a 3". Seems like it came out quietly.
I added the grips (Thailand) but otherwise the 2" model comes stock with a brass bead front. Not a fan of the FO fronts on the 4.25", but easy to change.
I spoke with Ruger CS this morning.
They are sending out a replacement front sight. Seems like the most reasonable place to start.
I no longer have a workshop, so hopefully, the dealer can slide a new one in.
In spite of the hiccup, very happy with the FFL and Ruger so far. Everyone...
Thanks gentlemen. If it were used, I might try a temporary thread-locker and see if it holds.
But, …being factory-new, I will be patient and send it back to Ruger. My only concern is that it doesn’t get the Bubba treatment at Ruger. I don’t think that would happen.

For several years now, I kicked a lot of 327 tires but never found a model that stood out, or was reasonably priced. I came very close with the Taurus 3” but wanted a nice blue...
I must be the luckiest guy alive because I purchased 4 Taurus revolvers and 1 semi-auto in the last year. Not one issue.
Can’t say that about my new model 63 that had a bit of rough machining and would not trigger-return, or the Colt Cobra that required a return to factory for a DLC recoat...
Last month, I procrastinated enough to miss out on a Taurus factory rebate offer by several days.
I figured, "why not"; submitted my sales info and a request to Taurus customer service asking if they might still honor a late request. Within 24 hours, I received a nice reply from customer...
New Vaquero Montado 357
I’ve had a Vaquero Montado in 357 for many years. Very solid SAA repro with transfer bar. Sight picture isn’t the greatest, but it always worked well enough for everyday plinking or a farm gun.
Just picked up a Taurus Deputy in 45LC, (also available in 357) with a...
