    Watch out for this scam

BCDWYO - yep, the Armslist was the phony and the Gunbroker was the legit sale. Armslist ad copied the GB ad verbatim as well as the pictures. When I asked for additional photos beyond the four in the Armslist ad, the scammer copied more from the GB sale - but not the ones I requested. Three...

    Watch out for this scam

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this but it's a great fyi regarding buyer beware! I thought I had a great buy for a Dan Wesson .44 Magnum lined up on Armslist until my sixth sense told me something wasn't right with the deal. My first clue was that it seemed to good to be...

Marksman41 is my new friend and he gets A++++++!!!

Hi Haris, It was a pleasure to meet you and I enjoyed our conversation as well. Thanks for the tip on the store. You're right, it is worth the drive - and that Tussey-built 1911 was fantastic. Thanks also for the information about the gunsmith. I've got a few projects that need tending to...

Speaking of high-priced Smiths on GB

I wonder if the sellers on some of these auctions have people they know bid up the price on an item, but without the intent or responsibility of actually purchasing the piece? I've seen some auctions that ended with a high price from a bid war, yet the gun was relisted in a week because of some...

SPF: S&W Model 58 (blued) with extras

What - you're not clairvoyant!? :) The holster is right-handed. Sorry about not including that important piece of info. in the description. It's a #77 "Tortilla" holster in Russet with basket stamping. Here's link to the holster in the El Paso Saddlery catalog...

    Serial # match question

Thanks for the info., guys. I have a Model 58 (no dash) from 1966 that has a different number on the yoke from the serial # on the frame. Good to know that's normal!

    Serial # match question

Should the numbers on the yoke match the serial # of the gun? If they should and they don't, how much does that affect the price when buying/selling?

SPF: S&W Model 58 (blued) with extras

The grips are Craig Spegel grips, but I can't remember what type of wood they are made from.

SPF: S&W Model 58 (blued) with extras

I have a nice Model 58 (blued), no dash, for sale. It is not LNIB or mint as it does have some wear on the barrel and cylinder, but the wear is minor. It's a nice gun but I'm scaling back on my quantity of collection and variety of calibers, so this M58 will be going to another who appreciates...

    Reg. Mag Discovered by Accident!!!

Also of interest would be the story of your friend that owned it as it sounds like he was a man of excellent character and taste. I suspect he was a veteran of WWII and if he passed on any remembrances of his time in service. I always like to read or hear a veteran's experiences as each is unique.

Ah yes, Craig Spegel. I do need to see about getting a set from him. Thanks for the info. Mickey!

    2-1/2 inch nickel 19-3 for $500?

Mickey D - Where did you get the grips on your M 19? They are quite elegant.

    M1917 45 ACP Classic

I remember reading in one of the boards here that soon (if not already) it will be possible to order these Classic line revolvers without the lock.

New to me S&W 1917, need help EDIT-PICTURES ADDED

Here's my 2 cents: For storage, I would not recommend the case with the foam in the photos. To transport to and from the range it would be okay, but not for long-term storage. There are lots of products out there for long-term gun storage, but here's a couple to get started: Bore Store bags...
