A question about K-frame Target Hammer and Target Trigger

Thanks for the info and help. Beautiful Model 19 BTW. I wish mine was as nice cosmetically. But then, I guess I wouldn't have been able to buy it for $200. Matt G

A question about K-frame Target Hammer and Target Trigger

I have a 1971 vintage Model 19 that I would like to upgrade with Target Hammer and Target Trigger. I plan on keeping the parts that are removed so that any future owner can return it to it's original configuration. The gun is a low round count shooter with a lot of wear on the finish from...

    Manufacturer date for a pre-Model 34?

Hi, My local shop just got in a pre-Model 34, Serial No. 225** (serial # on the butt and cylinder and other almost illegible #'s on the yoke and crane). Blue with a 2" barrel and diamond round butt stocks. Unfortunately, I forgot to count the # of screws. It's got some finish issues and...

    Found a bargain...I think.

I did over-pay for my Model 29-2, and, yes, I'm quite upside-down on it. But, seeing your "want list," this will tick you off. I paid the same amount ($450) for a 4" Model 28 about a year later. It has only minor wear at the muzzle and several small, light, blemishes in the finish...

    Found a bargain...I think.

Speaking from experience, I would recommend a pass on this one. Several years ago, I had an "impulse" buy situation at a gun show. The dealer had a well worn 4" 2T Model 29-2 for $450. Since I had some money and hadn't seen a 4" Model 29 for sale in a long time, I bought it. It was a well...

    34-1 at the range

I absolutely hated my Model 34 for years after I bought it becaise of the small grip. It is the only gun my Wife will shoot (it's "her's" now). I bought it around 1980 and ended up installing a Pachmyr, which was an improvement. I just don't like them much. A couple of years ago I put the...

    1905 4th Change M&P questions

Hi folks, I'm dipping into an area in which I am not very familiar, Pre-War S&W revolvers. I have quite a few 1960's through 1990's Smiths, but know little about the earlier guns. I met with a local club member that is looking for a CCW gun yesterday. He is a precious metals dealer and wants...

    686 no dash

I prefer SafariLand speedloaders. I use Comp III's in IDPA competition. I would recommend them (or the Comp II for CCW purposes). Very good retention of the rounds and much faster on the reload for me than HKS speedloaders. Matt

My "new" Model 681 - manufacture date?

Thanks for the info and comments. I think it's going to be a great shooter. I have a soft spot for M&P style fixed sight Smith & Wesson revolvers. My first handgun purchase in 1977 was a 4" SB Model 13. I was a dope to sell it and have been looking for another good one ever since. I'd still...

My "new" Model 681 - manufacture date?

Third attempt at photos.... If this doesn't work, I'll have to dig out my Etch-A-Sketch and draw the darn thing. Any thoughts on the manufacture date?

My "new" Model 681 - manufacture date?

Hi, Here are a couple of photos of the 4" SB Model 681 I brought home today. I had been looking for a Model 581 when I came across this gun for $300. It was part of a lot of LE confiscated guns and it doesn't seem to have been too well looked after by the PO's, although it checks out well...

    Mint condition 34-1

I just purchased another 4" SB Model 34-1 in about 98-99% condition (with the box, but no instructions or tools) for $350. In this area, that is a very good face to face/private sale price. In a shop, it would have been $500. Here's a link to photos of my old and new Model 34's: Model 34...
