I recently acquired this well worn m1917.
Haven’t fired it yet, but it will make it into the field rotation soon. Deciphering the serial number has been a chore, the under barrel number is most legible.
The grips are also unnumbered.
Any idea how post war (WW1) this is?
My son tipped me off on a pair of Smiths at a local pawn shop.
Not a model 10 enthusiast by any means I gave them a look and brought home this well used m10-6.
The JP 1803 in front of the trigger guard tipped off it was surplus, the CAI import stamp under the ejector told me imported...
NO LONGER Looking for a pair of Bill Davis K frame grips. I believe they are square butt only which is what I’m looking for.
Send me a message with what you’ve got and what you wants.
Cheers!
***my new to me m66-4 is a round butt. Seller didn’t disclose, I didn’t ask, just assumed it would be...

Came with a Hogue monogrip, had some magnas, a trigger shoe and a Tyler T grip (as one does) in the parts drawer. Almost as spiffy as the one I carried when I worked for the...
Two model 38’s airweights here! Nickel & blue with a stainless cylinder.
My favorite J frames from the early-mid 70’s. Gotta have two to “double wield”.
Bodyguard all the way. And they’re fun to shoot.
Timely comment!
I just picked up a nickel plated model 38 airweight bodyguard. Looks like someone used steel wool to remove surface rust. Plating is still there, but what to use to buff it out?
Also, could someone date it? Please? serial #J2406xx
(M38 on the right is my “floating J” from ‘72.)
I found an older 640 (38spl no lock) at a pawn shop last week. Paid a fair price, $360. Came with magnas and a Tyler T grip. Considering what T grips are going for, it was a good deal. My question, born on date? BPB 30xx
