    Model 19-4

girvin02, I think Mama S&W must have had twins! My 19 is identical to yours except for the red insert that I added to the front sight 30+ years ago!

    K Frame Grips

Thanks guys! I appreciate the input. Upon closer inspection, they do have a very faint stamping inside one panel that says "Made in Italy". While my grips are very similar to the ones DWFAN posted, there a subtle differences. Were Siles made in Italy, or are these knockoffs?

    Model 19-4

My 19-4, purchased new by me in 1978 came with the earlier football cutout. It still wears the original grips to this day!

    K Frame Grips

I have owned these grips for 30+ years.... I just don't know where I got them... They fit my model 19-4 nicely. Are these made by (sold by?) S&W or are they aftermarket? Thanks!

Thanks for all the info, guys. I think I will pass on these grips and spend a few more dollars on a set that actually fit without needing any work...

    Dajims Grips/Stocks?

Thanks, fyimo. I appreciate the offer, but am primarily looking for a set of grips for my square butt K frame... Would those grips fit a 629-4? Its definitely not a square butt, but would it be considered a round butt?? Thanks!

    Dajims Grips/Stocks?

Has anyone bought grips for their K or N frame Smith from a company named Dajim's?? They are sold on Ebay for about $35,and while they look pretty good, I wonder how they fit?? They are supposedly made in Thailand... Thanks!

Cost of New 10-5 in 1967??

Thanks again for the information and welcome. Somehow, I don't feel like a noobie here! Armybass, that pic looks just like the M10 Dad bought. I remember going to the range with him as a kid and shooting it. Chad, Dad is long gone, but I can tell you he made quite a few purchases Mom never...

Cost of New 10-5 in 1967??

Thanks, Max and Lou... I had a feeling $219 was a little high, since that was about what I paid 10 years later for Model 19. Now, I just have to figure out what Dad has been hiding all these years!

Cost of New 10-5 in 1967??

I was recently going through my gun paperwork, and came across a receipt from a local gun dealer. The date on the receipt is June 27, 1967. The "item" purchased was $219.95. I was with my dad about that time when he purchased a new 10-5 from this dealer. I was 10 years old... This is the...

29/629... How Bad Did I Mess Up??

Thanks again for all the responses! I had very few regrets when it comes to guns, as I have only sold/traded two. I really don't miss the M29, as the 629 Classic just "feels" better to me. Plus I REALLY like stainless guns. The last 3 I bought have been stainless, and I doubt I will buy...

29/629... How Bad Did I Mess Up??

Wow, Thanks for the welcome! Ok, I feel better now, but let me comment on some of the responses. I'm glad to hear about the "dirty" talk... I own a couple of Colts as well. None of my guns are safe queens. I shoot every one of them when I get the chance. I did get away from shooting for a...
