What’s so great about 10 mm?

I liked my 10MM, but I felt it came up a bit short for hunting. When I got into handgun hunting, my 29-2 was the "go-to", but what really fit the bill was my 6" 1911 converted to 460R. Load it with underwood hardcast and let the party begin. It has been 100% reliable and not much more recoil...

    SOLD_WTS Beautiful S&W model 27-1

Up for sale is my rare S&W Lettered M27 dash 1. I regretfully must sell due to economic reasons: Covid made my job go away 1.5 years b/f retirement! I am disappointed to part with this beauty, but I don’t shoot it and feel its time for it to find a new home. The bluing on this 6.5” revolver is...

    Hate it when that happens!!!

Yup, 1911 plunger spring. I'm usually pretty good about using a parts tray...except this one time (ok, maybe 2). Doing a disassembly, put the parts on a rag. Went to assemble and couldn't find the plunger spring. I tore the garage apart for 2 hours, took a break and went back at it. Finally...

    Drinks

+1 on a fine stogie and a great bourbon or scotch. Right now having a Gentleman Jack and a tastey Undercrown.

    Gas vs Electric...Your preference?

The only benefit to gas (for me) is heat control. I've had gas and learned how to live with electric. Plus the difference in cost buys a lot of ammo! If I wanted a daily supply of nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and formaldehyde, I would definitely go with gas.

    629-1 recall number question

May or may no not be a problem. Called Smith and they were uber cool. Yes, mine was in the recall lot. They sent a prepaid fedex and in the mail it went today. This is one of the reasons why you buy a s&w: excellent customer service. They said not to worry, the replacement cylinder was in...

    629-1 recall number question

My concern is that the cylinder is not "serviceable" meaning they dont have any more replacement cylinders. Then what happens, they keep my gun and give me a voucher for a new .44 magnum? I guess the only way is just call Customer Service and see where it goes. I'll post my finding.

    629-1 recall number question

I think my 629-1 (S/N AFR74XX) is included in the cylinder recall that also covered the 624. I really like this 6" stainless beauty and so far have only run specials through it. Its in awesome shape (but no box) and clearly hasn't had many rounds through it or been abused. It came with incorrect...

    SOLD_K Frame Grips_SOLD

I have what I believe are correctly identified K frame grips. See my thread: “629-1 stock confusion”. For whatever reason, my newly acquired 629 came with these. I have since bought the correct grips and no longer need these. I was going to trade these for a members M29 grips, but he decided to...
