Woodgord, never too far away...my uncle used to call it medicine....one glass per night...okay, maybe two.

WOODFORD Reserve ? I am liking their Rye Whiskey variety.

Sidecar

A one time favorite Drink, was the Sidecar. = the juice of a fresh squeezed lemon + 1/2 oz. Triple Sec + 1oz. brandy, shake well with cracked ice, and pour into a cocktail glass & enjoy. I first discovered This delightful drink, in a restaurant in Dublin, OH., That long ride, all in, one day, in pouring down, cold rain started in Chicago, IL, and ended, in that restaurant in Dublin, a few miles from our home, in Grove City, in a sidecar rig, with my wife, as my passenger, or as passengers are called in sidecar vernacular "monkey'. We were following a friend, and his wife, that were also driving a sidecar rig. We were returning from attending a national sidecar rally, in Canada. We had toured the USA, and Canada, with them in previous years. That restaurant, was just recently torn down. I haven't tasted a Sidecar drink, or drove one of my sidecar rigs in many years. Oh how I'd love to share, a ride, or one of those delightful drinks with those long ago deceased friends again.

Just know the later in the evening the time stamp is on my post the more you should ignore them Don't waste to much time trying to decipher what I meant.

After a cigar and few wee and not so see drams I can get a bit philosophical. Worse my hunt peck typing style really goes down hill.

+1 on a fine stogie and a great bourbon or scotch. Right now having a Gentleman Jack and a tastey Undercrown.

I've told this before but I bet it's worth repeating. I was at a ladies house buying some of her deceased husbands guns. After we were done she said go out thru the garage and I think there's a box of ammo there you can have. There was and I spotted some tubs and was wondering what was in them. It turned out they were full of hundreds of cigars which I bought along with the standing humidor for $25.! I don't smoke and I brought 100 cigars to the next gun show and sold then for $2.00 each. One guy was really interested so he came over my house and I found out he had hundreds of bottles of single malt scotch. I traded him all the cigars for 30 bottles of single malt. This was by far the best deal I ever made.

No hard liquor for me. A glass of aged Brunello di Montalcino. Buy a case of 2015 Brunello for enjoyment after 2025 or later, and savor the angel's kiss.

I just had to buy another wine. Nativ Eremo San Quirico Gold. Made with special Aglianico dei Campi Taurasini grapes. It is from the Campania region of Italy, East of Mt. Visuvio. Limited supply. It is a 2016. I guess we will have to wait until 2026 to taste it. I suspect it will go very well with steak and pasta. My Italian wines are just for special Italian dinners. Not for pizza.

If I stopped buying Italian wine today, I believe I would have enough to last until the day I die, and hopefully that won't be any time soon. If there is any justice, as I am laying on my death bed, I will be sipping my last bottle in my collection.

Precision...

A finely crafted Manhattan with a Montecristo in hand...... A little Ben Webster & Oscar Peterson playing softly in the background..... that's it.....like a great symphony, the world comes together in perfect balance....

Whenever my brother and I would start coughing, dad would let us sip hot ROCK and RYE.

We coughed a lot.

Reminds me of the toothaches I would have as a small child. My grandma would bring out the Four Roses and rub some on my gums to relieve the pain.

I learned to have a lot of toothaches.

Dinner bell. Ooh steak again? Oh you say it's a NYstrip and16 oz. okay? Thank you, and a baked potato with lots of butter, (none of that other stuff for me) Mixed veggies on the side. It was lovely. Now for an after dinner libation. Make it a Rusty Nail, with Johnny black please. Aah that was just what the DR. ordered.
