Drinks

Thanks for this post; I learned a couple of things. (1) "Drink doubles". I didn't know there was such a thing as a "single".
(2) "Jim Beam Black and Coke." I never knew bourbon could be mixed. Ya think I could substitute Knob Creek for the Beam Black?

That's risky business rite thar. The good folks at KC recommend several different mixers, but thats's not one of them. Bourbon Drinks | Bourbon Drink Recipes | Cocktails | Knob Creek(R)

P.S. while on the Google to get to the KC website, one of their question list was "Is bourbon and Coke bad for you?" Came *that* close to coughing up my Woodfords!

This is unavailable in the valley. Poster 'Absalom' is responsible for my descent into Dickel 12. (Always blame someone else. Works every time!) Can no longer be bothered with the fifths: I only buy the 1.75L size now. By all means, try the Bottled in Bond 2008.

P.S. Sorry, I don't get out much. What is a "'gut bomb"?

We rented a cabin near Tullahoma for years and got to know the Dickel factory store well. I still have a bottle of the 1st batch of "Bottled in Bond" with a 2005 date. Have a few bottles of their 9 year old Single Barrel stashed too but their Barrel Select is my go to. If you can find a bottle of it or the Single Barrel you'll really enjoy it, smooth as silk.

Gut bomb - One of my grilled burgers.

Yes to both. Or just add the Knob Creek on top of the JBB and Coke.

From my dad's bar. A true Kentuckian, he knew fine bourbon and thought I.W. Harper was the very best. He passed in December of 1987, and I could never bring myself to empty this bottle.

IW Harper's is popular in Japan, and on ice, water back, was my go-to drink for many years there. (Normally reserved and retiring, simply amazin' how it drew out my karaoke skills...)

About 3 fingers of Evan Williams sour mash bourbon and an equal amount of ginger ale, some ice and I'm happy.
On special occasions some George Dickel N0. 12 neat is AWFUL smooth!

Here in Arizona, and trust me on this, it's summer. Here is one of the sure signs...

Here's a sure antidote to boredom. It's a special vodka Martini. I invented it myself. The nice thing is, it's real easy to prepare. Fill a glass with ice, pour your favorite vodka over the ice, and add one or more big stuffed olives. That's it. Anyone can do it.

Here's the reason I'm able to resist finishing Dad's I.W. Harper - it's called Rebel Yell. It pleases me greatly.

Once upon a time, there was an Arizona beer called A-1. It could make you take on a grizzly after a few. I loved it. It's no longer made, but occasionally you find one of the old signs.

Here's one of the old A-1 Beer advertising posters. They are probably more famous than the beer now, and many reproductions have been made. This one's called "A cowboy's dream."

All this talk of fine adult beverages makes me think I'd like to have an ice cold Heineken. This shot was taken of me at Big Nose Kate's bar in Tombstone. 'Scuse me while I go do somethin'. ;)

You made my day until that last picture. JJ, is one of the most despicable humans that I've ever observed. I sincerely believe, that if she were to be teamed with Madam P, they would be capable to destroy the serenity of the entire planet.

For some good tunes get on ytube and listen to Tim Hardin, Whiskey, Whiskey. Y'all have a raspberry brandy on me!

Tim, I'd love to take you up on your offer of a drink of raspberry brandy, but Where in the world would one find affordable raspberry brandy?
