Drinks

I don't ask for much, George Dickel Barrel Select neat out of my favorite glass and a gut bomb off the grill.

This is unavailable in the valley. Poster 'Absalom' is responsible for my descent into Dickel 12. (Always blame someone else. Works every time!) Can no longer be bothered with the fifths: I only buy the 1.75L size now. By all means, try the Bottled in Bond 2008.

P.S. Sorry, I don't get out much. What is a "'gut bomb"?

From my dad's bar. A true Kentuckian, he knew fine bourbon and thought I.W. Harper was the very best. He passed in December of 1987, and I could never bring myself to empty this bottle.

Here in Arizona, and trust me on this, it's summer. Here is one of the sure signs...

Here's a sure antidote to boredom. It's a special vodka Martini. I invented it myself. The nice thing is, it's real easy to prepare. Fill a glass with ice, pour your favorite vodka over the ice, and add one or more big stuffed olives. That's it. Anyone can do it.

Here's the reason I'm able to resist finishing Dad's I.W. Harper - it's called Rebel Yell. It pleases me greatly.

Once upon a time, there was an Arizona beer called A-1. It could make you take on a grizzly after a few. I loved it. It's no longer made, but occasionally you find one of the old signs.

Here's one of the old A-1 Beer advertising posters. They are probably more famous than the beer now, and many reproductions have been made. This one's called "A cowboy's dream."

All this talk of fine adult beverages makes me think I'd like to have an ice cold Heineken. This shot was taken of me at Big Nose Kate's bar in Tombstone. 'Scuse me while I go do somethin'. ;)

Drinks??!! You folks gotta keep me away from the strong stuff. As many of you know, after two 7ups, I'm up dancin' on the tables and rippin' my clothes off!:p

Drink doubles. Then it only takes one. Meanwhile, I'll have a Jim Beam Black and Coke.

If someone heads Mulepackers way with some liquor, I'll tackle them myself!

No surprise that a good number of the ding worthy posts in the Lounge are made after the sun goes down.

Some sound advice... Don't post on the forum, once you've started to pour 'em! ;)

.........and for goodness sake, don't let me start prowling the "For Sale/Trade" ads!!! Talk about the morning after blues!
"I sold WHAT!!??" followed by, "I bought WHAT!!??"

Thanks for this post; I learned a couple of things. (1) "Drink doubles". I didn't know there was such a thing as a "single".
(2) "Jim Beam Black and Coke." I never knew bourbon could be mixed. Ya think I could substitute Knob Creek for the Beam Black?

Don't quote me on this, but I think it is against forum rules, to mix Knob Creek. Seems I got a week "off" once from admitting to doing so!

She said "Where have you been?" Well, "I've been here, and I've been there, and I've been in between."
Nothing stronger than Bud Light. Even then, I bought two Rugers after 10:00 PM!
(Thanks to KC)
