Does anyone make a holster for a basic 5” model S&W 5”? I picked up a ratty rusted one and cleaned it up. It is now two- tone ceracoated with the barrel threaded. Looks like one from the custom shop or a Wilson build.
Has anyone's Shield come with a very gritty and heavy (8 lbs) trigger? This was measured after about 200 dry fires. I did the M&P trigger job with the take up/reset work. Now it is smooth and 5.2 lbs. (Lyman digital gauge). I was very surprised since my friend's fairly new M&P compact has great...
My wife calls me an idiot also. Must be because I have a model of 1989 5" 625, a Springfield armory commemorative mountain gun and the new 325 Nightguard. Oh did I mention my 610,940 and ruger 9mm security six? I really enjoy my clip revolvers.
Of course I also enjoy my semiautos, But hate...
I just called the S&W parts dept. and they refused to sell me a sear for my shield 9mm. I haven't boogered mine, but would like to have an extra to play with. Any suggestions on where to get one?
My new Shield came with an 8 lb. trigger and gritty as heck. I did the Burwell technique trigger job. The trigger is smooth, but breaks at 6.1 lbs.. I did straighten the bump very slightly, but didn't thin the sear so engagement surfaces are factory full length. I would like a 4.5-5 lb trigger...
Looks great. I didn't know they still make bonded ivory grips. You usually see micarta or corian. A Tyler-T grip would definitely make it more comfortable to shoot. I've got two on my N frames. They look good too.
Lucky guy. You'll love it. I gave mine to my friend as a house gun when his first child was born. Very accurate I could easily hit clay pedgeons at 25 yards.
BTW. My friend wound up saving his wife and now 10 year old daughter from a raging Pit bull with this revolver. Unfortunately he was...
I have an airweight model 37 with a steel cylinder, no lock, that I would like converted to 9mm. I purchased two 9mm cylinder assemblies for future projects a few years ago from the S&W parts dept.. They were two of the last three on the shelf.
I have two other 9 mm revolvers, a 940 and a Ruger...
You're thinking of the 45 Super. The Rowland has a longer brass case so it wouldn't fit in a standard .45 Auto chamber. I think it would be like shooting hot .45 Long Colt loads in a 625. Not recommended for shooting a lot, but OK for woods carry. There is someone on here that had his cylinder...
Two. One, a 3" model 60 prelock to friend on the birth of his daughter. He needed a carry/house gun. The second a 6" 66-1 to my nephew to graduate to from his .22 and to teach his kids as they grow older.
