OK.....
So, the new powders are the same..... right?
The old powders are different.
Maybe this is why the tables show both. I bought the latest Lee manual about 3 years ago and it does show both. I guess they can't drop one or the other from the tables until enough time has passed for the old...
10-4... the powders are different.
SO, the H-4227 data that is in the 500 S&W mag load table I have is useless since no H-4227 can be found.
I just wanted to see some up-to-date conversation about the 2 powders since all the threads I read on the topic were from 2011 and older.
Thanks everyone!!
Hello everyone.
I am confused as to whether there is a difference between H-4227 and IMR 4227. I see some load tables the actually show BOTH POWDER DESIGNATIONS.(??????)
I have seen forum posts that say they are the same powder and I have seen posts that say they are different.
I have seen...
OK.... on one of the revolvers there is a "S&W 38 GPG" stamp. (sandblasted and parkarized version)
On the other there is a "38 S&W CTG" stamp.
This pistol is blued and there is no stamping under the cylinder release.
The blued model is the one with the above stampings and it has a price of $350...
I am going to have my bro-in-law go back today and take a good look at the pistol. He knows the shop owner pretty well, so between him and the shop owner I should be able to get all the particulars on this pistol. He also has another similar S&W laying beside this one. As I remember it had the...
And the barrel length was about 5" (seemed like a normal uncut barrel)
The owner is very knowledgeable of guns in general. He had a Russian S&W top break in nickle finish that looked GREAT but the caliber was 44 Russian. Not my cup of tea so my Bro-In-law bought that one for $950.
The grips...
The screw is missing on the removable side plate at the uppermost near the hammer.
The one thing I do remember was the caliber (38 Special) was stamped under the cylinder release. (I had never seen this before) And was not marked as a conversion.
The finish is what clued me in that this pistol...
Hello all.
I have a chance to buy a Victory model that has the lanyard loop on the grip and has a "sandblasted parkarized" finish. The pistol looks to be in really great shape except for one missing screw. It is 38 caliber. He is asking $475 so I am wondering if you guys think it would be worth...
10-4 to that!
I do have enough brass so I can reload both the 32-20 and the 25-20. Last box of 25-20 I bought was about 70 bucks!! (gun show price)!! SO.... I have to reload!
;)
Yep, I can see the point Frog.
As a matter of fact, I would have probably passed on this one if I didn't already have a '92 Winchester in 32-20.
That ammo is hard to find. (But not as hard as 25-20 (LOL).
:D
