Shield - broken slide stop spring

After re-reading all the above posts, it appears to me (I am not a gunsmith) that maybe there is an excessive clearance problem between the slide stop and lock block. LGJHN: if you are repairing it yourself, you may want to inspect to make sure the channel that spring leaf is supposed to reside...

Shield - broken slide stop spring

Follow up from my 16 Aug. post..... Got the gun back yesterday. They turned it around in 5 weeks; I guess that is not too bad in the world of gunsmiths. Paperwork accompanying the gun said they replaced the "Barrel Lock Block". No description of HOW it failed or what the problem was, but will...

Shield - broken slide stop spring

After seeing these posts here, I am starting to think Smith has a significant problem with this failure mode. Same thing happened to me with a new Shield I purchased in July. Field stripped the new gun to clean storage oil off it, lubed it, went to range.... put about 100 rounds through it...

    Sight removal on an M&P

I'm not on here very often, so I apologize if this subject has been common and/or run in the ground.... Specifically: I want to replace the sights on my full size M&P 9. I have heard rumors, etc. that the rear site set screw is held with Loctite Red, which is extremely difficult to break...

    9MM Load data

Hi, I load and shoot a lot of 9mm and .40 with TiteGroup. It is quite accurate in both and does well with the 115 gr. bullets. From what I have seen, TG is best with lighter bullets in both 9 and .40 S&W. It does quite well with 115 gr. but I would not recommend it on bullets heavier than...
