    Creating the Midsize M&P9

Haha I think that's a definite possibility, they ARE making a new handgun for the Army contract but I wouldn't say it will hit the market that soon. But no, I thought about the 45C, it IS the perfect size but that's with the magazine extension. I'm trying to avoid using those. Keep the...

Actually, I plan on hacking it off right in line with one of the cross sections on the inside of the frame. So it should seal up and line up perfectly. I appreciate you guys bringing up any possible issues I may not have thought of though, it should help this project go a little more smoothly.

Dang, that's awesome! You don't see much in the way of polymer frames in the open division! The C-More is obviously your open gun, is the other an open gun or Carry Optics division gun? I shoot my .40 Pro 5" in Limited but this year I will be running .40 minor in production. Looking to...

    Creating the Midsize M&P9

Roger, the front dust cover won't have a gap though, I actually have to cut the dust cover down to match. I'm an ok welder but not with something that critical, such as a magazine. A buddy of mine, Paul Grundhauser of Grundhauser Gun Works would be doing the magazine if I decide to go that...

    Creating the Midsize M&P9

Haha it's no problem. I did post on that thread, that's probably where the confusion came from. But yeah, it's a project I'm looking forward to and am more than capable of doing, so when it's done I'm sure people will see the usefulness of it and it will probably open a few eyes. The guy...

It will be dremeled to match the compact frame exactly, only with a longer grip. No it would not compromise the structural integrity.

And what exactly would cause it to blow up...?

    Creating the Midsize M&P9

Yep, I don't like that the grip is an entire inch too short. And yes, I plan for worst case rather than an optimum situation, but that's not what I don't like about the grip. I want a full firing grip without having to release it to change a mag, which is not a training issue, it's a...

    Creating the Midsize M&P9

Bkreutz, that's not my post... I'm making the proper sized gun for me. MCE, actually length does make a difference, not in concealability but in comfort. The longer the slide the higher up I have to carry it so that it doesn't jam into my hip when I sit down. The reloading issue is not a...

    Creating the Midsize M&P9

Jeez, lots of emotion here lol. I have two compacts, the grip is too short, with the X-grip my big *** hands don't allow me to do a very efficient reload. The shield isn't even remotely similar to what I'm looking for so I don't know why that was an option lol. Shortening the grip is a...

    Creating the Midsize M&P9

So, all this talk of a G19 sized M&P has got me digging a lot and I haven't had any luck, so I will document my journey here. I will be putting a compact slide on the full size frame. It requires some Dremel use and a lot of balls but will be one of a kind when I'm done. I'm also thinking of...

    M&P40C Slide on Fullsize frame

HA! That is hilarious, I've panicked before as well thinking it was stuck. This winter I'm making a hybrid with this same setup, but in 9mm. The part it gets hung up on is where the slide (the round part that the guide rod sticks through) hits the frame. It cannot POSSIBLY go back far enough...
