New problem with a used pistol that is in very nice condition. There are times (5-10%) of the time, when I start to squeeze the trigger, and the hammer does not fall on the rim of the cartridge. When this happens, I carefully pull the slide back a quarter or a half inch until I hear "something"...

Recently placed an order (and down-payment) with my local dealer for a new Model 41. He said that there are none available currently, and that we will have to wait for the factory to manufacture some new ones. Does anyone know how often S&W makes a batch of these pistols?

I had a heck of a time today trying to get my Model 41 to shoot Remington Subsonic HP. I had up to two misfires for every magazine. The firing pin was leaving a strong dent on the edge of the cartridges that were misfiring. I even tried firing these misfired cartridges a second time, and only...

The thumb safety on the model 41 doesn't seem to prevent a round from being fired, but simply prevents the slide from cycling. In other words, if I chamber a round, and then engage the thumb safety, I am still able to fire the round by pulling the trigger. Can anyone explain why S&W decided to...
