Sorry, but I disagree. The value is in the custom work done to the gun, and the name of the gunsmith assures us that the work was done correctly. Since S&W never made a .45 Colt round butt snub (that I'm aware of), like they did the M24, then the only way to get that configuration is by having...
They compare very well quality-wise but most of the S&W 45's had steel frames and were heavy to carry. This particular model has an alloy frame like a P220, which I also have, but with the Performance Center accuracy improvements and hand fitting. It's a winner!
Yes, that's a minor hiccup. I contacted Novak hoping to get night sights that would maintain the original look but they no longer have any for the 3rd Gen .45's. I can get Trijicons and they should be fine.
After almost 10 years of looking for one, I finally got my hands on an all black 4563 Performance Center .45 CQB. I had seen a few all silver and 2-tone guns come up, but I held out for the one I wanted and finally got it. The best part is that I already had holsters for it, from when I had a...
I bought this gun and am very happy to have finally acquired one. I've been looking for a long time for a black one.
Although I received notice of it from the Saved Search feature on GB, it was very sporting of Liberator2014 to put the word out and let everyone know about it even though he...
LOL, that's 27 years ago, pretty close to 30 for an off the top of the head guess. Are you like me, where stuff from the 90's was "around 10 years ago"? ;)
Just got my new Warbird Leather holster for my 3" 13-2. It's a snap on OWB with ostrich leg trim. The gun fits great and the holster is beautiful. Took about 6 weeks for delivery, which is not bad at all.
I highly recommend Paul's work. He's very receptive to special requests regarding cant...
I've seen several guns over the years engraved in that loose style. I never knew who the engraver was but your hint led me to this:

Here's one I had made for my 2" model 10. Paul at Warbird Leather made it for me. I highly recommend his work.
He's made about half a dozen holsters for me. He does excellent work and is very accommodating. He'll work with whatever cant and ride height you need. You can reach him at...
I had a 4566 that I put some checkered Hogue grips on, but they were huge and made that wonderful single stack auto feel like a fat double stack gun. Not a good fit for my hands at all. They were checkered too otherwise I would have tried just sanding them down to slim them. I got rid of them...
Well, see that's the issue. The letter says that S&W didn't OFFER ivory grips, which is very different from just making them. IIRC S&W offered a variety of sights for their guns, including some made by other companies. The point is that if they shipped a gun from the factory with a certain part...
Thanks for everyone's input. Since S&W offered ivory grips on their guns well before the Triple Lock came along, it's very confusing to me that they wouldn't offer them for that frame size. Unless they went through a period where they just didn't offer ivory grips at all, but that doesn't make...
