S&W and Lipsey's wanted the 32 H&R instead for a couple reasons. First, the cylinder can be shorter... not by much, but enough to matter. Secondly, the .327 pressures are too high for the metals used in the 632 Ultimate Carry, especially if reloaded to really hot .327 loads. At close ranges...

You shouldn't have any problem finding 32 S&W ammo; they use it a lot in NRA bullseye for the centerfire stages. I have a box of it for my Ruger LCR, and my son has case in his basement.... all 98 gr lead wadcutter by Magtech.
I have often heard that S&W revolver quality decreased when S&W was owned by Bangor Punta. Have also heard that when MIM parts came out, quality declined since you can't gunsmith those parts like solid steel parts.
