S&W 686 4" would be the most believeable to me. NCH

The best ammo for small J fames is the Speer Gold Dots in 135 grain. It says right on the box that these were designed for small barreled guns. It is all I carry in my 38 and when I can locate them in 357 I will order some for it as well. Otherqwise it's silvertips in the 357. I hope this helps...

The 686 is, in my opinion, the best 357 mag out there and no gun collection is complete without one. A good pancake holster is your best bet for CC. I love the Bianchi Carryloc holsters but don't know if they make them for wheel guns, if they do check them out you won't be sorry. NCH

I totally understand why NYPD ordered these guns in this configuration, but it doesn't change the fact that a DA/SA set up would be far more useful for my daughter. At least I don't have to mess with removing the lock, lol!!! NCH

Thanks for the info. I started on the refinish job today, went down to 600 grit and then 800 and then 1000 and then flitz and I have one side of the frame done and it looks good, removed all but a couple deep nicks. I think they add some character anyway. I was going to clean it up and sell it...
