Am considering a model 61 that appears to be in excellent condition for $300. I don't have a clue about the history or worth of the model and wonder if its an offer I should pursue at that price.
Any input from you will be considered helpful. Thanks in advance.
I shot my Model 60 at the local range and noticed, during cleaning, the barrel pin on the left side was missing. I called S&W and was advised they were about to "shut down" for a while and to wait a couple of months before mailing it in.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you offer. I am pondering a S&W mdl 38 snub at a local pawn shop with serial number J2099** in excellent condition w/o box or papers. I'm interested to know its manufacture date and whether its a keeper at $325. Also interested to learn the range of years...
I came across a S&W mdl 38 snub for $325 w/o box or papers in excellent condition and wondered whether the membership would consider that a fair price and the approximate birthdate of serial # J2099**. Thank you in advance for your help.
I tried to like my BG .380 but left the range three times in a row bleeding from the web between thumb and forefinger; never had confidence in my ability to hit target consistently. Finally traded it for a like new mdl 60. I made the right choice.
I tried to like it but after three trips to the range , all of which left the web of my hand (btw thmb/4fngr) bloody. Never got comfortable with the length of the trigger pull and seldom hit my intended target. Woefully disappointed; I traded it for a sweet M60...point and click.
