Depending on how I am dressed there are 3 in the normal rotation: 1. Glock 21 .45 2. S&W 66 3" .357 3. S&W 638 .38 I once had a Taurus .45, but it had a few problems. Once or twice per 10-round mag I could squeeze the trigger back all the way, as far as it would go, and nothing would happen...

.45 ACP was left off the list. My #1 carry gun is a Glock 21. #2 is a 3" S&W 66 .357. #3 is a S&W 638 that I can always just stick in my pocket.

Lobo Leather I, too, went with a Tom Threepersons from Lobo Leather. Love it, and it didn't break the bank.

Another vote here for the 638. I like the option of firing SA. If it's in my pocket and I see someone coming towards me in a parking lot at night (or day), I like the ability of cocking the gun while it's in my pocket and being ready for a quick and easy first shot. If it proves to be no threat...

Today on GunsAmerica.com there were four Talo (fancy wood grips) 686s: a 5” for $720, a 3” for $720, a 7” for $720, and a 6” 686 Plus for $670. Think you did pretty good.

I does seem a little bit high, however, the 2.5" 686 is one of the most finely balanced guns ever made. It points so naturally, it's like pointing your finger. If you really want it, you won't even think about the price later. You'll just be happy with your gun.
