Thanks for the info, Murphydog, I did get it in late 1971, confused it with another pistol, a Colt M1911 38 which I gave to my brother years ago. I did get off my duff, cleaned & oiled it & went out & shot the hell out of it. Felt pretty good, can still shoot. BTW meant to say "10-5 or 10-6...

Just found it, in a lock box with a trigger lock, went thru fifteen kids & grandkids just like that. Ser # on butt is D384782. It is a 4" barrel and am not sure if it is a 10-5 or a 10, barrel has 38 S&W Special stamoed on it and it has trademark below trigger and Made in USA/Marcas...

Bought a new Model 10 back in the late '60s, shot it maybe a dozen times, maybe 300-400 rounds total, always kept it clean & oiled, it is around here somewhere, last saw it maybe 2005 or so, wonder what it is worth. Has holster & belt. believe it is a 4' barrel.

Oso Negro :)Stationed in Harlingen when I was in USAF waaaay back in the late '50s, used to drink Oso Negro Mezcal on rare occasions, memory not too clear on exactly when, ate the worm a few times so must have been pretty far gone... We always bought the bottles in Matamoros and ALWAYS paid...
