    Firing pin 43c ??

Tentative answer. Less of the energy of the hammer is used up accelerating the firing pin when the mass of the pin is less. So more energy is available to crush the rim & ignite the primer. Ok. I put in a light ( for a .22 ) 8# hammer spring instead of the usual 9# needed with solid firing pin...

    Firing pin 43c ??

43c .22lr firing pin question I have 2 43c Smiths.. While cleaning, I noticed that the more resent has a solid firing pin and the older one has a hollow, reduced mass, pin. First hollowed our pin I’ve ever come across! Hollow costs more. Older gun has the hollow pin, newer has the the solid. WHY?

    First concealed hammer hand ejector?

Ah! I found that the top break was available in concealed hammer longer than I thought. Cool about Applegate! I did see a .327 mag centennial for sale...for about 30 seconds! I really like my 43c. My every day carry. Many Thanks!

I have found my 43c sights are right on. I’ll try some long range next time! I haven’t seen any difference between standard velocity & CCI stinger/ Segmented (Quik Shok). I can feel the slight difference in recoil. The action job did help a great deal. Great gun. Thinking of exchanging my 317...

What is the best gun for Bear Defense?

See: HandLoader Magazine #223 In summary: 1- not much time. 2- penetration paramount. 3- too much recoil prevents follow up shots. Suggestions from Alaskan guide. Been there really! .357 DA/SA revolver, 3”>4” (what his fishing guide daughter carries) 200 gn wide flat nose cast lead bullets...

Looking real hard at the 43C for me and the wife

.22 43c & 317 ?? I carry a .22 as primary self defense weapon. A S&W 317 2”. I did an action smoothing using Wolff main & rebound springs sized for the 317 rim fire. Much better & NO misfires! My wife (also 73 & some arthritis) loves hers & my life would be ‘difficult’ if I tried to trade it...
