What distance do you practice with your J frame snubbie?

Self defense Just wanted to add this: When we trained at the P.D., we practiced firing from the draw and close in, 3 to 5 yds, one handed and kept revolver in tight and close to your body so the bad guy couldn't grab your weapon and if he was strong enough, could just take it a way and shoot...

    Conceal carry on tight budget

XDS sweet gun I have an XDs 45 single stack 5 rounds one in the pipe for 6, or go for the 7 round magazines. It is a sweet gun very concealable, fires like a dream, accurate, comfortable to fire. I have a choice the model 60 .38 2 inch or the 45, both are easy to conceal, the 45 being thinner.

    Gun mount for home

Where do I put my gun? Put your gun where you can get to it quickly, combos in a locked box are nice but stress where someone has a knife to your wife's throat may cause you to forget those numbers. If you don't have in on you put it where you can get it if you answer the door, someone breaks...

What distance do you practice with your J frame snubbie?

Shooting Distance for 2 inch Model 60 I have to agree to shoot at your target at a distance of 7 yards and practice getting to and drawing your weapon and point and shoot, 2 taps at the target center mass! Remember you only have 5 rounds, make them count! Practice drawing with an empty weapon...

    Hello from Spring Hill, Florida

Hi Everyone, I am new to joining the site and wanted to introduce myself to you all! I am not new to guns or shooting, I started when I was about 7 years old. I have a few guns that I have for self defense of my family, self and home. My wife is completing her CCW and we're teaching her to shoot...

Please help me date an early Model 60

This is my model 60 .38 Spl serial # R143645 and I believe I purchased it new in 1975 and carried it as a backup gun until I retired in 1992. I'll never part with it, shoots real nice tight shot group, never had any problems!

    Engraving/ tune up

I agree, send it back to S&W, so its done correctly. Call them up and explain exactly what you want done and include that in a letter when you ship back to company. I just did that with Springfield Armory and the work was super and very thorough with a quick turn around!

    New to me Model 65-1

My Model 65 I bought my Model 65 new back in 1975 and carried it for 17 years until I retired. I only used .38 rounds for service duty. We had to qualify every year with your service revolver and I used to shoot in the master's class. It allowed me to keep a real tight shot group, really...

    .38S&W Questions...NEED SOME HELP

May I add my 2 cents to this discussion When I was working as a PO we carried .38 cal revolvers until they switched to Sig autos in 1992. Until then they tested and found the 158 gr, jacketed hollow points +P , they did best for taking out the bad guy. The hydrostatic shock dropped them with...

    Lets talk about J-Frame Grips......

Love these original grips. I bought this new in '75, (Model 60,.38 SPL. 2"), and always used the original grips with the grip adapter for 17 years carrying it as a backup. It was very easy to conceal. I'm in FL and carry it in my back shorts pocket.
