Greetings,

New guy here from Ohio, and I had to get on here to post pictures of my new to me Model 65-1, and say how much I love this gun.

I am a firearms enthusiast / collector, and I have been looking for a Model 65 for a while, and have never come across one that I really had to have, until the other day.

I had been looking on gunbroker, and found one that I was interested in, and decided to go to my favorite local gunseller to set up a transfer. He asked me what I was looking for, and I said an S&W model 65. He says, 'as it happens, I had a guy trade in a 65 just yesterday'. He walks over to another case, and pulls out an old Smith&Wesson box, and inside is a beautiful Model 65-1, with all of its original paperwork, and in beautiful condition. Needless to say, I didn't have to think too hard to make up my mind.

I was able to shoot this gun the other day for the first time, and I love it. The trigger is smooth, and in single action, it is amazingly light and crisp.

I look forward to many years of enjoyment from this gun, and am proud to have it in my collection.

I couldn't post photos here because of their size, but if you would like to have a look at it, there are photos at the link below.

Sorry for the long first post, but I am obviously very excited about this gun, and thought I would share my experience with it, along with some photos, with fellow gun entusiasts.

Welcome to the Forum. What a debut showing that sweet 65. Looks like NIB to me. It was your lucky day finding that at the local gun store.

Since you have a Photo Bucket account you can left click on the IMG logo. It will say "copied". You can then go to you thread post and right click. It will say "paste". Your picture will then post on the thread.

Thanks guys, for the warm welcomes, and special thanks to KLYDE and Flint Ridge for the tips on posting photos / posting the photos.

Nice find. I have a 64 in 4 inch. Same gun but in .38 Special. They are very well balanced and very accurate. You will love it.

My Model 65

I bought my Model 65 new back in 1975 and carried it for 17 years until I retired. I only used .38 rounds for service duty. We had to qualify every year with your service revolver and I used to shoot in the master's class. It allowed me to keep a real tight shot group, really accurate. The only thing I changed was going to pachmayr rubber grips being out in the rain and snow the originalwood grips were slippery..

You'll love this gun,enjoy.
