    48-4

The waiting period in Kommiefornia is ten long days. It stinks.

    48-4

I bought a 4" Smith&Wesson model 48-4 in about 98% blue condition, but unfortunately no box or paperwork. The serial number tells me it was born in 1977. I would like to shoot this one...heck, I have some ammo lying around, so I should use some. I should be picking it up on the 17th of this...

    Leaving the IL OUT

IL problems Have any of you had any problems with the IL in your revolvers? That could be a serious concern if there was a regular problem. JS. Papascull:(

    Leaving the IL OUT

I read 500 Magnum Nut's section in gunsmithing and found it very informative. I have a question or two. Leaving the the Internal Lock should not effect the way the revolver will shoot? Also, is there a plug made or could be adapted to fill in the opening where the lock is operated? I would never...

    15-3

I bought a S & W model 15-3 2" that is as close to new as could be without being new. The revolver had ONE cylinder fired through it, cleaned and put away, has box, paperwork,& tools. It cost me $569.00 which I figure is pretty good for SoCal. According to our bible, it was made in 1977. I m...

    Major clean & oil

by papascull » Sat Nov 15, 2014 7:15 pm I got the 629 no dash out the other day and decided to do a major clean & oil. So, I gutted the revolver completely and checked over the parts. There was some surface rust on the frame and the right side cover plate. I was not too surprised. It is...

    629 no dash

629 No Dash Well, I am going to go for the deal. From what I can tell from reading the S&W "Bible", the box actually correct for the year of the revolver and they were options. Now the grips...well, only a letter would settle that potential problem. Although I really am not worried about it...

    629 no dash

I am looking to buy a 629 no dash w/pinned barrel & recessed cylinder. I am not sure if this is the right section or the one before this. I have no ser#. It is 6" barrel and has the wood box with the goodies. The weapon is so clean, it may not have been fired. As you can see it has a slightly...

    Model 59 mag release

jimbo728, Thanks a bunch. I may just leave it as it is. I had considered adjusting it outward a tad, but now I am not so sure. JS. Papascull

    Model 59 mag release

Jim, sorry about not being too specific. The mag release is just too low for quick release, everything else with it is fine...locks up tight, not loose at all and reliably locks the mags in place. Thanks for your response. John

    Model 59 mag release

I am just curious. I picked up my model 59 and noticed the mag release leaves a bit to be desired. I don't mind it all that muck, but if it was a carry pistol, it would be a pain to change mags in a hurry. Is this a typical situation for the 59? Was a fix for this or do most you folks not...
