A Range Day made in Heaven

My quest for the elusive 3" Model 66 is coming to an abrupt end. The prices have jumped over $1000 and that is a bit much for a used handgun or even an older ANIB version as the sellers would state. I like the Pencil Barred M64 also and have been looking for a couple of those in the local area...

(Post War Pre Model 10's) Gone but not forgotten

I am lucky enough to have the pleasure of having in my possession a 4" and 5" Post War Pre Model 10's. I shot both yesterday and I must say for a 68 and 67 year old guns, they are tight and fire with the utmost of ease. I could only imagine them how solid a revolver they must have been years...

I have both in 2.5' and I like them also. The 4" is a good shooter especially with the pinned and recessed features.

    Model 64 ?s

M64 with tapers are great looking guns, and you have a nice example. You paid less than most are going for nationally and that is a good thing.A lot of guns are old prison guns and will have the bull barrels. I found a few on Gunbroker.com going for$399 - $567, so you did pretty well. For...

A Range Day made in Heaven

Yesterday was truly a blessed day! Went up to a friend's private range and had a chance to fire all my stainless 60 series 38/357 revolvers except my 2,5 inch M66-2. Haven recently purchased an M60, M64-5, M65-4, M66-1 and M67-1I needed to shoot them to gain more appreciation for the...

    1911 recommendation

Taurus makes the PT 1911 and it is just at capable as any 1911 .45ACP pistol on the market. They are usually around the same price point as the Rock Island Armory, and have about $1600.00 of custome features for the price of a sub $750 gun. I have a Para Ordinance Warthawg in 3" and a Taurus PT...

    S & W 3"J FRAME QUESTIONS

Last thing I ever want to do is offend someone on this sight but, "Boolit," is actually spelled BULLET. You had me confused for a moment wondering what you were talking about. Sorry no intent of embarassing someone.

    18-3 ? what is it?

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Looking at your collection, I would say your children, if you have any will have no problem getting tuition for college. I would not sell a one of them unless you know that they are going to a good home, and I am sure there are thousands of other collectors on this site that...

Your preferred 357 mag. Model 65 or 66 & why?

I really like the K frame snubs, I have an M66 and M19 both in 2.5" configurations. The high front to sight radius on the rear sight on that short barrel just looks menacing to a would be offender. I also think the 3" M65 offers a great concealed carry package without the worry of the sights...

What does your significant other carry?

Used Law enforcement and Corrections Guns

For those looking to get good into collecting Smith and Wesson revolvers, try your local law enforcement auctions, for used and lightly fired revolvers. Most will likely show holster wear, and the grips may need retouching due to repeated holstering and general handling abuse. I have found some...

New Jogging Buddy for coyotes encounters

We were on I 20 Sunday about twomiles outside of Vicksburg MS and there was a coyote on the side of the Interstate waiting to cross like he was at a traffic crosswalk. These things are dangerous and not afraid of people.

New Jogging Buddy for coyotes encounters

Anyone in the lower 48 who thinks that coyotes are not in their area might want to rethink that scenario. They are there, you just haven't seen one yet. I have seen them in Conneticut, Virginia, and of course inCalifornia. They used to come up to the front door of the Photo Lab at Vandenberg Air...
