I'm here to surrender my Man Card....

Before duct tape, there was bailing wire, fruit cans, and tin snips. If you have two out of three of those, then you can still cliam to be a renaissance man. At least, in my world.

    Combat magnum S/N K264603.

Love the model 19s. Every revolver shooter owes it to himself to shoot one before he buys his next handgun. It might influence his purchase plans.

    Don't Read to Your Kids

I bet that this philosopher reads to HIS kids. I know many people that had very liberal views, but when their kids came along, my how their views changed.

Sorry, plastic gun fans...couldn't resist sharing this... :)

OP, That's funny. And I like all kinds of guns. As a matter of fact, I copied the meme and sent it to a bunch of friends that shoot.

    S&W 645 - Am I loosing my sanity?

A friend of mine owns a 645 which he purchased new in the 1980s. Out of the box, the trigger was a little rough, but after a couple hundred rounds, it really smoothed out. Very well-made gun. Hope you get years of enjoyment from yours.

    Too old/nice to carry?

Beardeddog has a great point. The grips look like they are in really nice shape. Get some Altamonts if you like the factory style, or any other grip that fits your hand. Keep the factory originals labelled and in the safe. You will be glad you did. ... Of course, then carry it!

Any Browning HP fans out there ?

Proof that owning just one can make a fan I have owned only one. But I have kept it for over 25 years. It has been a pistol that I never considered selling. Here is a picture with Altamont slim grips.

    Question about Fedral HST 9mm

147gr OAL I just measured ten rounds of 147 HSTs. Product code P9HST2. Six of the ten measured 1.125 or 1.126. The shortest was 1.123, The longest was 1.128. I would use 1.125" as a benchmark.

Model 64 HB Followed Me Home

I like it. Since the damage to the stocks is already done, would you ever consider stripping what finish is left, and giving the wood a nice satin oil finish? As they stand now, they don't have great collector value, and I think it would look nice. ... But that's just me.

All you master chefs out there... what would you add?

What? No bell pepper? I would add some green, yellow, or red bell pepper. This would add Flavor without the hot spice. If you want a bit of spice, without heat, add some paprika or chili powder. If you want some heat, put in some jalepeno (without the seeds or web). All of a sudden, I'm...

Found a safe queen (in the back of my safe)

If it were me, I would ask myself, "Do I still like this gun?" If the answer is "No", then I would put it up for sale at current retail value. If the answer is, "Yes", then I would hang on to it and enjoy it.

    Model 19-3, ship date please

1970? Excellent! :) Maybe it is true when folks say, "They really did build them better back then." Thanks for your help.

    Model 19-3, ship date please

I found a Model 19-3, 4" barrel, blued, pinned and recessed, at my favorite local gun store. Significant holster wear, a few very small rust specs under the rubber hogue grips, but fantastic mechanical condition, so I bought it. The best DA trigger pull of any gun I have ever owned, like silk...

    Minor rant! Buying spray paint!

As far as Buying general merchandise goes, I don't tell the clerk anything unless I have to. And even then I have been known to fabricate information. A large sporting goods store,(you would all recognize it), wanted to know my email address for a small cash purchase. I told her I don't...
