This guy followed me home from my friends gun shop in Longview, WA SN is AUD 10XX. Nothing special, just a good solid .38 Special shooter. The former owner got a little enthusiastic with the sand paper on the stocks but I found a correct pair of targets in my "stuff" box. It's got a few scratches here and there and I'm kicking around the idea of polishing it. While I was there I put a four-inch model 10 on layaway. I'll post pics when I get it. Here are a couple of pics of the M64.

I like it. Since the damage to the stocks is already done, would you ever consider stripping what finish is left, and giving the wood a nice satin oil finish?
As they stand now, they don't have great collector value, and I think it would look nice. ... But that's just me.

Very nice revolver. And that Model 10 on layaway should complement this 64 very well.

Thanks for sharing. Congrats.

Nice. Congratulations.

If the scratches are not too deep, you can fix the finish with a simple remedy. All you need are some green scotchbrite pads and oil. You can buff the stainless back to (more or less) the original look. Just buff in ONE direction, all over.....do not vary the direction....and keep the surface oiled as you rub. You can use heavy or light pressure, depending on the surface scratches present...and depending on the look desired. Light pressure will create a brighter, more polished look.....and heavy pressure will create a duller "brushed finish" look.

Nice find. I just picked one up in a trade and love it. Shoots right where you aim and very comfortable to shoot. Enjoy it !

I do not know if it is your only 64 or not, but you should enjoy shooting it! Fixed sight K frames shoot well for me. I have a 64-3, and a 13-2. Now a 10-5 snub. Enjoy your 64! Bob

Nice find! I call my HB M-10 and HB M-64 the "terrible twins". They both are great DA shooters, those heavy barrel four inchers are a joy to shoot. Enjoy that one!

....SN is AUD 10XX.... M64....
Would of shipped in about.....
May of 1986.
Those Football Targets look like they could be salvageable. If you re-sharpen some of the rounded edges, and gave it a coat of varnish, they wouldn't look half bad on a shooter.

I think the original factory grips on a -3 like that would of been Magna service stocks.
