I'd love a 10 rnd Shield with a 4.5-5" barrel. I think it'd work great in classes that limit capacity to 10 rnds. I've carried 5" 1911s so this wouldn't be a bad carry gun either.

I didn't think ebay ever allowed the sale of any mags over 10 rounds. They only in the last couple years even allowed the sale of any mags.

I got a bunch of Remington sub-sonic right & it runs in mine just fine.

Springs aren't damaged or worn out by being compressed. It's the cycling that wears them out. Leaving a pistol cocked is fine. Loading mags and leaving them is fine, too.

I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but check the mag for damage. It may be bulged. I didn't read the whole thread.

I carry in a Don Hume, appendix, and a Winthrop holster at 3:30. Both will hide my Shield under a T-shirt.

Auto pistols are designed to strip a round from the mag and chamber it as a way to control slide speed as it goes into battery. IMO it can be hard on the locking lug when the slide is just released from lock on an empty chamber. Drop your slide from lock on an empty chamber, then with a loaded...

The Shield has a pretty stout recoil spring. If locked back and trying to chamber a round, just grab the back of the slide, pull it back and release. It'll go forward into battery. If you're trying to let the slide go into battery on an empty chamber, pull back and release the slide lock lever...

I can't imagine wanting to shoot thru walls and doors in my house. Who might be on the other side? My son? Wife? I'll ID what or whom I'm shooting at before pulling the trigger. In my mind, rounds going thru walls and such in my house isn't what I want. What I want is a round that penetrates...

You should be fine. I carry Ranger 124 gr +p in mine. I've run a couple boxes thru it to check function. I shoot fmj at the range.

I've been shooting CCI standard velocity and Remington sub-sonic ammo. Both work fine. Of the 500 or so rounds thru it, I've had 5-8 malfunctions with the sub-sonic. No biggie to me. It's a ball to shoot and is reasonably accurate.
